I went through the drive through for a sandwich (flounder fried in catfish batter). It smelled and tasted bad. I returned through the drive through for resolution. The manager didn’t speak with me at all. The drive through lady didn’t offer for her manager. Instead, actions taken were not to make the experience overlook-able. But only to ensure I continue to patronage THAT location. She wrote my name on the back of my receipt & collected the receipt along with the twangy fish she’d served me previously. Then relayed from the manager, I wouldn’t receive a refund, ONLY a credit or wait for a remake.. You want me to accept a remake or to come back to use a food credit? Unacceptable business ethics (poor customer relations)from this experience and add to it, undercutting thievery. Would it have been more acceptable to eat the food, get sick & sue for food poisoning? Not in my opinion! But since I hadn’t eaten the flounder sandwich, and I took additional time to return to explain my dissatisfaction. The least action taken should have been to refund my $7.07. Let it be MY decision if I want to chance having the same experience at your establishment. I posted this for those to NOT have the experience I did should you have dissatisfaction with your food choice at the Lizard’s Thicket 501 Knox Abbott Dr,...
Read moreI stopped in and ordered a "carry out" 8-23-24 at lunch time. I ordered a meat (smoked sausage) and it was over cooked bordering being burnt and 4 sides plate but was told they were OUT of cream corn so I ordered 3 sides being mac/cheese, string beans and fried okra. The cut string beans looked and tasted like they were canned and the fried okra was over cooked and dried out; IT appeared to have been cooked in a Air Fryer. Also, the wait time was EXCESSIVE 10-15 mins. So the food being sub-par got the 1 star and the excessive wait gave them the 1 star on service. Can't rate on the Atmosphere but they didn't seem very busy. In closing, I'm a senior and grew up with Lizards Thicket and fondly remember when there was only the one restaurant (in Columbia SC) and it was a treat to dine there (that was a LONG time ago). These days I don't eat out often but when I do... I expect much better. Needless to say.... I wont' be going back anytime soon or at least not to the one on Knox Abbott Drive (Cayce SC). I really can't recommend this establishment and with the memories I have, that...
Read moreMy wife and I decided to try this place for the first time after hearing it was good from a few different people. On here if shows a very extensive menu and stating breakfast is served all day, breakfast is served from 630 to 1130, the menu we were handed consisted of maybe 12 choices, the breakfast menu was on the other side of the one page, yes 1 page menu. My wife ordered the BLT which should be a BBLT, burned bacon, l1 peace of lettuce and tomato, unlike any other restaurant either of us have ever eaten, she had to order the handful of French fries that cost $2.69.i ordered the chicken and waffles, wasn't bad, but wasn't worth bragging about either. It took about 15 minutes for our food to come out, but only another 5 minutes for the bill to be on the table, was never asked if we wanted dessert, which is good because it would be difficult to decide between the 2 dessert items. Went to the counter to pay, wasn't even properly greeted, wasn't asked how the food was, just a hello. It was a one time only experience, never again will we waste our time or money at...
