I had such a horrible experience at Tony's Pizza this week that it motivated me to write this review as well as many other reviews and tell all my family & friends so I can educate other potential customers about what an unfriendly place this is.
My large family and I tried to dine at this establishment on a Monday night like we have done many, many times over the life of Tony's Pizza (we've been going there long before the current owner was there). We had a party of 6 adults and 3 young kids - i.e. a sizable party for this place. There were only 2 other patrons in the dining room when we walked in at 6 pm. Two of the kids were super excited to see each other and my son kept squealing with glee (not crying, not yelling, but squealing - I know the difference). We were still trying to get settled in and the owner came out and told my son, who by the way is 21 months, that he needed to be quiet. We thought it odd since we'd just gotten there and hadn't settled into our seats that the owner would be so confrontational. So we proceeded to try to settle down, but not 2 minutes later, the owner came out and again reprimanded my 21 month old. My husband then stepped in because he thought the owner was going to next try to touch our child. My husband said the owner needed to talk to him, not my son. He then questioned if we'd ever taken our son to a restaurant (which by the way, we have been to plenty of restaurants, many much nicer than Tony's) and that he was misbehaving and interrupting his other customers. Again, only 2 other patrons in the restaurant and they hadn't even complained to us or the waitress about the noise level. We felt so unwelcome and ashamed that we left the restaurant. The owner never once apologized.
Now, I am very aware that there is a time and place to take children. A restaurant with most menu items under $10 and plastic table cloths who touts themselves as a neighborhood pizza joint at 6 pm on a Monday would seem like an okay place to take kids. Guess not under the new management!
I will never return to this restaurant as long as the current owner is there due to the way my family and I were made to feel. And the food is just okay. So I will take my business elsewhere and I...
Read moreI rarely, if ever, publicly express my dissatisfaction with another business, especially a local business, but my experience today at Tony’s Pizzalicious on Knox Abbott Drive was like nothing I’ve ever experienced. It started 2 nights ago when I picked up an order to go totaling approx $23. I opened the top on my manicotti, took a bite and immediately felt hair in my mouth. I pulled out a hair at least 12” long. (My hair is no more than 2 inches, so it wasn’t mine). I took a picture of it. I called up to Tony’s and spoke to the manager. I very nicely explained that my husband and I were not going to be eating the meals, would be glad to bring them back, but I wanted a refund. She was very kind and apologetic, but told me she would have the owner call me the next day. I never got a call. So, today I went into the restaurant. The owner told me that the other 2 ladies there would help me, but I told him that I needed to talk to him. He moaned, rolled his eyes and said, “what do you want”. I explained what happened and asked for my money to be refunded. I showed him the picture of the hair and my receipt. He told me that he wouldn’t give it back to me because I probably planted the hair to get money and that people do that to him all the time. He said if I had brought the meals back so he knew that they hadn’t been eaten, that he would have given me my money back. I told him that I would go get the meals out of my trash and bring them there. He said okay. When I returned with the uneaten meals, he pushed them back at me, told me that he talked to his “girls” and none of them had spoken with me about this. I told him he could open the containers and see that all the food was there and even see the hair, but he refused to take a look. He called me a scammer. He started using the F word with me. He told me to get off his property or he would call the police. This is the worst business encounter that I have ever dealt with in all of my years. I mean, I don’t need the $23, but it was the principle of the thing. Of course, I will never go back there, but beware of this owner’s business ethics. ...
Read moreIf I could give it no stars I would. Worse place, 1st time there was not informed of any specials, ordered a sub and should have been informed the sub is not like your normal sub you would get from Subway or Firehouse Sub when I saw my sub it was a small sub very small I was informed it would come with potato chips when I saw my chips it was Crumbs from the bottom of the bag I informed the lady working there that I was not satisfied and asked if I could get my money back she told me no she didn't even offer any other options to make me a satisfied customer. I will not return nor would I recommend this place due to the bad service. What happened to the customer is always right or keeping a customer satisfied. There is nothing they can say to make it right she was flat out wrong.
So now you have replied with lies, you never waited on me it was a young girl who took my order, I did not wait 5, 10 or 15 minutes to return, I was parked right out front. I went to my car opened my plate then went back inside and yes you are right without my plate and I take responsibility for that. However as a business owner who deal with customers everyday I feel you should have handled my issue in a more professional manner, for an example maybe even told me you cannot take the food back and I cannot get my money back but maybe offered something else nothing expensive but just something to say okay she's the customer she's not satisfied let me do something so hopefully that will satisfy the customer. I would have accepted a sincere apology I'm not saying you had to give me my money back or take the plate back but even a sincere apology would have been acceptable. If you continue to go back and forth with me and lie that just shows what an immature unprofessional so-called business owner you are. A professional business owner would simply say I do apologize that you were not satisfied with your order. Or even say comeback try something else and I will give you a small discount. But you did none of the above not even a sincere apology you replied with the lies I hope you really not the owner...
