I wish I could recommend this place, but I can't.
Especially after all the hype about how "5 Guys is SO good!"
So here it goes... the Good, the Bad, the Ugly...
Good...
Fries were freshly cut and good. However, Starbeck's Waterloo has fresh cut fries and they are better and less greasy.
The restaurant was clean and the staff was awesome!
Bad...
Burgers don't come with fries or a drink. That's extra and the burgers just aren't that good. Average at best.
They use the dining area for storage of their peanut oil jugs and sacks of potatoes. Makes for a cluttered dining area.
Parking is an issue.
Ugly...
They offer no specials for military, Veterans, or first responders.
The cooks have no nets covering their beards and mustaches.
I watched the "fry guy" dump out a small fry cup (it was under the heat lamp) onto hot fresh fries, mix them up, and then re-scoop them into the same small fry cup. No hair net for his beard and mustache either.
They're expensive! I don't mean a little. I mean A LOT expensive.
My wife and I ordered 2 bacon cheeseburgers, a medium fry, and a large drink for a grand total of $37.08 including tax! That's even worse than Zombie Burger!
If we had ordered 2 fries and 2 drinks, that would have been nearly $49 for lunch.
We could have went to Texas Roadhouse for steak for under $30 or for a few bucks more to The Brown Bottle.
Nope, not going to do it. Not going to recommend this...
Read moreVisited on 6/27/23 between 5:55-6:15pm. Been over 10 years since I had been to a Five Guys (Springfield OR). Knew going in pricing is similar to that of chains such as: Smashburger, ShakeShack & Wahlburgers... paying at least 50% more for fast food quality food in a fast casual setting. Formerly Firehouse Subs, this location opened back in May 2023. Reading some of the previous comments I take some have never been to a Five Guys before. They all have the pallets of peanuts by the entrance that folks can grab a scoop of. One thing this location didn't have was the bell at the door that folks could ring if they thought the service was good and the staff would yell out "thank you"... which is a relief 8-) .... though they do have the cashiers yell out how many are coming though the doors (every time) for no apparent reason. In reference to "intimidators" review: All locations have some of their food supplies stored on the front end of the restaurant as part of their interior aesthetic, has nothing to do with a "lack of backroom...
Read moreHubby had a burger all the way. He said it was good, but nothing special. I had a hot dog, nothing special. We had 1 order of fries, glad we didn't get 2. For the price, one would think you would get special buns, NO, just plain Ole white buns. For their hearty price tag that surprised me. No sides besides fries. That also shocked me. Boring. Doesn't fries usually come with a sandwich?? All in all, food was decent, but nothing special by any means. For 1 burger, 1 hotdog and 1 order of fries it was $26.00! I give them a year. Most hard working people are not going to pay their ridiculous prices. For 10 bucks more we could of had a real meal at Texas rd House. We won't be going back. One and done. And. On a side note I hate the food wrapped in aluminum foil. I guess they don't know foil breaks off tiny micro pieces and goes into your food, and that isn't...
