I promise I don’t like to leave negative reviews but yeah, no. Just no. The young lady who took my order was great. But, that’s where it ends. Lettuce wrapped burger: patties had zero flavor. Fries: soggy, super oily and very salty. Drink: they were out of almost all drinks. Seriously though. So I went with Coke Zero because on one machine that’s all it had. Tasted like carbonated water. Ok went to the other machine. Got Sprite. Once again carbonated water. Sigh. Threw it out again and filled with Diet Dr. Pepper, only option left. Carbonated water! Pretty upset at this point so I just didn’t mess with the drink stations anymore. Sadly it doesn’t end there. Proceeded to get ketchup while I waited. The ketchup dispenser was empty. I just emptied ketchup packets in the container I had touched; as last resort. One of the female employees, not the cashier, had AirPods on with a face showing she couldn’t care less. Maybe she could. A customer was about to get ketchup so I told her that it was empty and that female employee heard me and rolled her eyes although I did not direct the comment at her. She just overheard me and when I turned she was staring at me I guess to show he heard me. Lol that’s insane. I don’t complain so I didn’t say anything and kept to myself but was contemplating whether I should just ask for my refund. Again I don’t like to cause a scene so I just took my food and left. Hopefully it was just the employees on this shift, which was around 6pm today. As a first timer at a Five Guys, I don’t think I will ever go back. Specially for the $23 dollars I paid for a double lettuce wrapped burger, small fries, and small carbonated water, I...
Read moreFrom the time this 5 Guys opened in Cedar Hill, I thought their routine was pretty good and just about every time since was pleasant and the food was good. This time not so much.On July 10, 2021 When I walked in, there was no line, but there were customers waiting for orders. No one moved with a sense of urgency to take my order. The young man on the register was in the back, he slowly walked out, no acknowledgement or "Sorry for the wait" attitude. Granted he took my order and it was correct on the receipt,1hamburger with mayo, lettuce, tomatoes, and raw onion. The other, baconburger, mustard lettuce, pickles, grilled onions and tomato. After I ordered more people came in , and again no sense of urgency to move to take care of them. What I took home was far from what I ordered. I got a cheeseburger, glad I'm not lactose intolerant, with mayo, raw onion, tomato, and pickle. The other was a hamburger, mayo, ketchup, no pickle, no onion and tomato. I also ordered a vanilla shake, which was made too early and was thawed out by the time the rest of my order was complete. Clearly they got so overwhelmed that they got lost in the process of making the right burgers for the right people. By the time I got home I was too tired and hungry to go back and my wife and I just ate what I had. The only good thing about the order was the young lady working didnt notice I had already gotten my shake and she made another and told me to keep it. I just hope by the time I go back they will have corrected...
Read moreOnline ordering process was pretty straightforward. The pickup process takes much longer than expected. You place the order, click the link to let them know you are on your way, click to say you have arrived, go to the pickup line and let them know you have arrived...........and wait. Almost seems like all you have done is prepaid for your order while they barely get started on it after you arrive. May as well just order when you get there.
As for the food? Ordered a plain bacon chzbrgr with an extra patty. With tax, a small tip my total was over 17 bucks. No fries, no drinks, nohing else.
The price isn't a dealbreaker. Ill gladly pay more for some yummy food, especially a great burger. This wasn't it. It wasn't terrible, just ok. As silly as it sounds, it tasted just like a Wendy's triple with bacon, just 5 to 6 dollars more expensive. The cheese was melted and kind of stuck to the wrapper. The bun was kind of smashed. It looked a little sloppy, but i like that look in a burger so no complaints there.
But again, the taste is pretty unremarkable. Bacon was a minimal amount, overdone and broken into pieces. I personally dislike bacon cooked this way.
Overall, the value simply isn't there. It isn't terrible, but average. Again, similar to Wendy's, which isn't bad, but not what you expect at that price point.
Place was clean and well lit. Probably...
