Would give one star but the manager remade my sandwich.
I ordered a beefeater. I’ve enjoyed this sandwich from Jason’s Deli for almost 30 years now. What I received today was inedible and just plain gross.
We waited over 20 minutes for our food. We almost asked for a refund. Wish I had. Our food had no love whatsoever.
I ate the first half of my sandwich and I was really disappointed in it. It was cold. It was soggy. And just plain gross.
When I grabbed the second half of my sandwich it fell apart into mush in my hand. It literally turned into slop. Totally unacceptable.
I took it to the counter and gave it to the manager. He fixed it and promptly brought out half of a sandwich that was warm, toasted, not soggy, and was more like what I expected.
The excuse was that the meat was juicy from the Au jus gravy. But we watched our food sit at the counter for a long time. I got up twice to grab it but got confused when I thought they were bringing it....but nope. People that ordered behind us even had their food before us. The reason my sandwich was bad was because the service was bad. My sandwich got soggy because they took FOREVER.
Meanwhile, while we eat this weird excuse for a sandwich, they are constantly cleaning tables around us, slamming chairs, and being pretty annoying.
Overall I was very disappointed in our lunch, as we are new to the area and just moved from downtown. We will never eat here again but the manager was nice enough to finally make a real sandwich. I just don’t understand why that sandwich couldn’t be great the first time around. There are too many other choices in walking distance, to put out food this gross. There is literally another deli next door. I am curious if all the food in cedar park...
Read moreUpdate to my original 2-star review: Changing to 5 stars. The accuracy of my orders placed has been perfect on my most recent visits. Original review: I’m not one to write reviews or complain because I like to give people the benefit of the doubt, we all make mistakes occasionally. I’m only writing this so that management is aware and can make necessary changes. My husband and I have frequented various locations of Jason’s Deli and always liked the food and service, love the salad bar, variety of choices and free ice cream. For some reason this location rarely gets our order correct. We often order online and pick up, so it’s not until we get home before we realize our order is wrong. Very recent examples, 1) My husband ordered a chicken salad sandwich with other vegetables, everything was added except the chicken salad. 2) I had ordered a veggie wrap and received a wrap with lots of meat and cheese. 3) Last evening we dined in hoping the quality of our order would be accurate. I ordered a turkey wrap but received a veggie wrap with a side of salsa that I didn’t order. I thought about taking it up to the counter in exchange for what I actually ordered but didn’t want to wait for a new order to come out, plus I do like the veggie wrap. There are more examples, like getting the wrong soup, etc. This happens so frequently I’m hoping management will read this and somehow improve quality control of orders being accurate. We do try to go through our pickup orders due to the frequency of mistakes. I don’t want to hurt this business location, honestly trying to...
Read moreStopped by JD for a late lunch and ordered the Steak Po Boy, a bowl of Irish Potato Soup and an unsweetened Iced Tea. My girlfriend ordered the Half Reuben with a cup of Irish Potato Soup The young man taking our order was polite and courteous. When I went to the drink station the tea urn was near empty and I had to tilt it to fill my cup The other "Unsweetened" Tea urn was bone dry. I brought it JD's attention and they started to brew fresh tea so I could get a refill. When our order arrived at the table the young man brought my soup but it was a cup and not a bowl like I had ordered. He then brought the sandwich but without the chips. He made two trips back to the food station to get the bowl of soup and then back again to bring me the chips. The sandwich looked great but as I began to eat it it was apparent that the steak was dry and chewy and not juicy and tender. My tea had a flowery, herbal taste so I believe they brewed the wrong flavored tea in the unsweetened tea urn. When I went for a refill the fresh tea they brewed had a completely different taste and more like the unsweetened tea I originally ordered and expected. Our experience wasn't awful, but considering there were only five other patrons dining in the restaurant and none in the line to order with us, your crew wasn't hitting on all cylinders despite having four employees behind the counter including one or two managers. After dropping $28 and change for lunch, I...
