Our experience was very awkward. Owner had a bit of an attitude with us at the beginning, but then better customer service towards the end. We did not know it was a sit down restaurant (we thought you just ordered at the counter), and she was a little passive aggressive about this. She also would not tell us her favorite things on the menu. “I own the place, it’s all good!” was her only response after we asked several times what she recommended. We were the only two customers there, and no music was playing, so we basically were just sitting in silence across from the owner at the bar table. We had a party of five very hungry people. And we had a variety of choices. So we took a chance and picked Runts's. We were pleasantly rewarded with a great time. The service; with a late lunch, we had our pick of where we sat. They have a spacious room for your choices. Our server was right on point with our menus, and she answered all of our questions. Which were a lot since they have signature dishes. The food; You're in for a treat when you order. All the food came out hot and fresh! The deviled egg dip is playfully done; the funnel cake fries were delightfully delicious; the mac and cheese bites were crispy and creamy, and the onion rings were fried to perfection. Just reached out to the owner via Facebook, to inquire if she could help me surprise a good friend who had surgery recently. My friend LOVES this restaurant, and I was hoping for a care package of munchies to help her feel better quickly :) I expected to be told no to something like this, but thought I would take a chance. Jess came through with an enthusiastic YES and right away packed up a box and a note for me!! She is even taking care of getting the delivery arranged as I am not able to hand deliver it.
