I use to come to this place almost every 2 weeks, but after being gone for 3 years and so excited to come back let me tell you it has gone down hill. The person I spoke with said he was the father's son who owned it.. I'll first start with how I asked if the the teriyaki sauce was teriyaki sauce. It was so water down that is was a light yellow color. Not the flavorful brownish it has naturally He admitted they water it down He then told me they do that becuase of the stickyness the full sauce would leave.. I told him that king buffet about 8 miles away has the same thing they do but doesn't water it down to give full flavor I had to add so much soy sauce to even get a hint of flavor....He then said if they didnt do that because it would leave a black char on the food but in realitly the back cahr comes from them not cleaning their gill right( look how good the cooks clean it he scrapes it off for 2 seconds and then calls it good and leave it hovering above the floor from the stand ... second the cooks that are makeing it look like they absolutely not wanting to be there. I told him at least they use to wear golves and had some kind of smile on their face. His response was they use to wear golve he said I know they should they just been cooking all day and that happens!! Really gross to think that's an excuse( just think what happens behind the closed doors when you order the food and not buffet) Littlely the guy stuck his whole thumb in my bowl with all my meat and noodles with everything getting touched.. absolutely no excuse for that they can put on gloves at least.. Then they are serving egg drop soup that's so water down it doesnt have an flavor nor a texture of egg drop soup!!! The servers are okay they don't understand anything you tell them and bring what they think you said... I'm so sorry for this to be a negative review I loved this place but when you really see how far they go to spread there product makes you wonder what if you order the food from the kitchen and not just the buffet... maybe the father needs to come back in and show his son how to do it right like it use to be!!! Also it's not a buffet it's just Koren bqq that's charges way to much.. i ate one bowl and left cause it was so flavorless and so just disgusting after seeing the cooks put the hands on everything.. ADVOID THIS PLACE LET THEM KNOW THIS ISNT HOW IT USE TO BE RAN AND THEY NEED TO REALLY GO BACK TO HOW IT WAS.. you don't water down products for any reason other your just trying to make it go longer... GROSS. you use to have me there every 2 weeks and I'll...
Read moreI haven't had a disappointing lunch in quite a while. However, I had one today after visiting Yuan Palace Mongolian BBQ. When I entered the establishment, the place had an awkward smell and the furniture, wall art, surroundings were mostly dated and/or damaged. The lighting was dull and not in an "romantic setting" type of way.
I was taken to my seat and immediately asked what I wanted as far as food etc. Seeing it was the first time I had been there and the waitress had not given me a menu, I politely asked how does the BBQ lunch work and what is the process. Apparently what I was saying was not too important because in the middle of my question, the waitress told me one minute and went to the front and continued to seat other people that were entering. Eventually another waitress came up and explained how their process worked.
I went up to the ingredient station to gather the items for the grill and saw all types of raw meat piled up, mixed together and not properly separated. I gathered my items and went to the grill. I watched as the grill attendees put my food on the large flat skillet and began to cook my meal. The problem was that other peoples food were apart of the mix too and not kept separate as you would see at other Mongolian BBQ restaurants. By the time I received my food, I found quite a few extra items that I didn't want or cared for in my plate that came from other people's selections. If I did not want a particular item in my diet or had an allergy I may have been in a lot of trouble. Despite putting their sauces on the food, the meal tasted bland and basic, the rice also appeared to be sitting around for a while and the overall meal was not worth the $9.90 price tag.
I joined Google+ just to make this review and let others know of what to possibly expect. Good luck... you have...
Read moreIf I could give zero stars I would. That's how terrible my recent experience was at Yuan Palace. I've dined here many times before and will never go back. I was there for lunch with my cousin who came with her three year old child. We prepared two Mongolian stir fry dishes and grabbed an extra empty bowl to share food with the toddler. Because we had three bowls, they charged us for three stir fries even though the toddler didn't eat a single bite. When we questioned this, they replied by saying that children were not allowed to eat there. Perhaps this was lost in translation, but offensive regardless. Later when we asked for two to-go boxes we were told we could only have one and the other box would be an additional $1. We were obviously very confused by this and explained that there are two adults eating and therefore we should be allowed at least two to-go boxes. They began to lecture us on how we filled out bowls too high and that's why we're only allowed one box. Whaaaat??? That was simply not true and if so, why is it up to the staff to determine how much we should eat and how much we shouldn't eat from the food filling our bowls? It just didn't make sense. Upon leaving the establishment, we paid (for 3) and the staff member asked how everything was. When we told her that we didn't have the best experience, she began to lecture us on the same thing all over again. She didn't appear apologetic in anyway. I will never go back and I will never recommend any one dine here. It's a shame because it was a...
