The pizza here was ok. Nothing to brag about nor go out of your way for. However, the most disappointing experience of my visit was the conversation I had with the OWNER of Carriage Court Pizza, Mr. Fred Laud. If you have never visited this establishment they have an EXTREME DIP at the entrance and exit of their parking lot. Leaving the restaurant, the front of the bumper on my NEW 2014 Chevy Malibu was completely scraped due to the way the exit is paved. I went back into the restaurant to speak to the manager about this incident. The lady went and had Mr. Fred Laud come out to speak to me about the matter. I expressed my frustration about the damage caused to my car and asked him to go outside to view it for himself. Shockingly, the first comment Mr. Laud had about the incident was, "I don't own the parking lot". WOW! No apology, no offer to reconcile the situation. Then, to add to this situation Mr. Laud tells me "Well I don't know how much responsibility falls on the driver, this has never happened here before". Are you kidding me? Anybody driving a vehicle in or out of the parking lot of this establishment is responsible for any damage caused to their car? It has absolutely nothing to do with the estimated 10-12 inch dip this parking lot has? I can understand if I was in a vehicle that has a low suspension for performance reasons, however I have a 2014 Chevy Malibu. An average mid-size sedan. I'm sure I'm not the only person with a mid-size sedan that has dined at the Carriage Court Pizza in Crown Point, IN. This all occurred on Saturday September 6, 2014. Mr. Laud explained to me that he would get in touch with the owner of the parking lot and explain what happened and someone would be in touch with me. Here it is September 15, 2014 and NOBODY from the Carriage Court House or the parking lot owner has reached out to make contact with me. This is by far the most UNPROFESSIONAL, COWARDLY experience I have ever had with any business. I work in the fast food industry myself so I am well aware of how customer service is handled. I understand the Carriage Court House can be leasing the property it stands on. However, if the landlord is not reputable enough to claim responsibility and reimburse me for any damage caused by his/her property, then the business establishment owner is expected to offer compensation to their customer for their inconvenience. By not receiving contact by either party, this clearly states the only concern to Mr. Fred Laud and the landlord of the property is PURE PROFIT AT ANY EXPENSE! I will NEVER visit the Carriage Court House again for the simple fact that I refuse to give my hard earned money to a business owner that has no concern for his customers after you have paid your bill. Good Luck leaving the property...

Until we were harassed by one of the employees there. I'm assuming she was the manager for the evening, or Head Server. At any rate, we had ordered our usual order of Pizzas. We ended up with a somewhat new server at the time. So service wasn't exactly ideal. She didn't really pay much attention to our needs, and screwed up a few of the pizzas that we had ordered. That said, we tipped accordingly. As we were leaving, the Head Waitress, or Night Manager, followed us out the door, practically begging us to give our Waitress a bigger tip than we did. The Head Waitress used every cornering tactic in the book to try and get us to give our Waitress a bigger tip. When we still refused, she began screaming at us and telling us to never come back! This was a small, long blonde haired lady, maybe late 30's, early 40's. As such, we have not been back since. Especially if this is the type of person they will employ. I have not, and will no longer recommend this place to anyone I know, or don't know.
Carriage Court Pizza has now become my second favorite place in the area to get Pizza! The sauce isn't overly sweet or savory, it's right in the middle the way it should be. There are many menu options to please the whole family if you're not looking to get Pizza, but their Pizza is obviously the star of the show. Several different specialty Pizzas to choose from a long with the usual standards!
Although the service can be questionable at times, it really isn't enough to discourage you from going back. Last visit, we ordered a Meat Lovers Pizza minus the Pepperoni, and it was made with it anyway. They immediately corrected the mistake before it even came out to us with a whole new Pizza, while letting us still dine on the mistake Pizza. There was obviously no charge for the mistake, and they boxed up the other Pizza for us to take home. They are awesome for catching and fixing their mistakes. Whether you dine in, or want a Pizza to go, you can't go wrong with their Pizza! Full of flavor and done right...
Read moreI dined inside this restaurant with my girlfriend and dog. They let us sit where we wanted to, so that was cool. I liked the old, gentle vibe they had going on here. It was a pretty cozy spot.
I got a Diet Pepsi for a drink and we got the Colossal Crown Nachos for an Appetizer. Assuming by the name and the price of $16, we took a gamble and got the standard order. They do offer a Half Order as well. For our main, we ordered a Small Freds Favorite Pizza. This had crumbly sausage, pepperoni, onion, and diced tomato.
The Diet Pepsi was served in a good size cup and had a smooth taste. The Nachos were stacked like a mountain and I’m a little surprised they kept their shape with how highly stacked they were. They were good for the most part. I enjoyed the size more than anything. I didn’t care for the tomatoes on them. The sour cream and jalapeños did the Nachos a lot of justice.
The Pizza took awhile to come out. It was a bit crispy and didn’t really show signs of grease. The sauce was really distant, unfortunately. I feel they really skimped out on it. The pepperoni didn’t have much flavor, either. The Pizza was overall, just okay. I expected it to be a lot better than what it was.
The service was alright. It wasn’t the best or worst. They did seem pretty busy, though, so I can’t really complain too much.
Overall, I had better expectations of their quality versus what I received. I really wanted to like it here, but maybe I chose the wrong Pizza. The vibe of the restaurant is a plus and the Nachos are almost a necessity. Maybe I’ll try a different Pizza in the future and ask for a lot of extra...
