Not impressed. Walked in to dirty glasses all over the bar, not one empty table had been bussed. The menus were greasy to the touch and the wait times for food were long. Waited 45 minutes for pretzel bites While the people next to us, who were waited on by another server, got their entree before we even got our appetizer and they walked in a few minutes after us. I asked for their Bear Burger, medium and got it well done (pictured). The server seemed careless, confused and inattentive. There we were, an hour and 15 minutes, empty table top and The server walks past asking, "How is everything?" I had to respond, "How is what?" Pointing to the empty table. The wife even asked why the people that walked in behind us were already served and almost done. The servers reply, "I don't know". Then she disappeared and immediately returned with our entrees claiming, "They just rang the bell when I walked back there." ...🧐 Sure. The food wasn't hot enough for that statement to be true. I told my wife not to tip her but, she got $10 from my wife... 😡. The food is the only thing I can't compliment about this place. Despite the screw up, the burger itself was really, really good. The tots were fried to perfection and the sauces for the pretzel bites were very interesting. Prices are premium. My advice: keep the cook, fire the blonde female server and clean more. I'll never come back.

Fantastic upscale bar the likes of which Crown Point has been needing for awhile. Menu with items that aren't easily found elsewhere like Chicken & Waffles and Lobster Rolls. I had the Tavern Chicken Sammy and it was excellent. Interesting looking cocktails and a nice selection of beer on tap (including locals like 3Floyds and 18th Street). Edit: Wanted to follow up and say that I've been back many times and it's fantastic. Had a rye old fashioned cocktail for their $6 Tuesday Cocktails special and it was easily the best cocktail I've ever had. Photos below are of the Cauliflower Flatbread and a special Bang Bang Chicken Sandwich. Both were delicious! The only thing I don't like is their extremely strict "over 21" policy. I understand there are laws governing this, but these laws don't prevent me from sitting outside with my two year old for lunch. Claiming that they do is disingenuous. If you want to have a "no kids" policy then don't try to use liquor laws as an excuse. There are times we would like to go here for lunch but because of this policy have to go elsewhere (to other places in Crown Point that have an identical bar setup and have no problem with kids).

I came here a few years back and it was definitely more on the quiet side then. It depends on what you like in a bar. If you like places that are more on the quiet side you probably should pass, It’s not easy to have a conversation here.. However, I still loved it. They have a menu with really interesting items. My husband is a big fan of scotch eggs and unfortunately he didn’t come with me but I took a picture of the menu for him. Very impressive that they would have these here. The only other place that I’ve seen is in Wisconsin at Sprecher’s brewery! Service was prompt, despite being busy on a Thursday evening. I can only imagine how much busier it gets during the weekend in summer. The bartenders were very nice men. The crowd seemed nice, not what I’m used to at dive bars at other towns. You know, the lowlife crowd. Not as bad here it seems. The best part is that despite being an attractive (unsupervised) female, NOBODY bothered me!!! I got to sit there and peace and enjoy the atmosphere while minding my own business. I’m not into talking to strangers. mom said no.

My boyfriend and I have driven past here numerous times and decided that today was the day to finally try something new in downtown Crown Point. We were greeted just fine and have nothing bad to say about the atmosphere. However, the food is a whole different story. We saw three items on the appetizer menu that sounded delicous: cheese cubes, short rib poutine, and mac daddy wontons (or something along those lines). Unfortunately, the deliciousness was just in the word descriptions on the menu. Instead of waiting until after the appetizers to order our food, we went ahead and ordered the entrees. Barely a third of the way done with our appetizers, we both were ridiculously nauseous and couldn't believe how the food tasted. We still hadn't received our entrees at this point and kept going back and forth between waiting or saying that we no longer wanted our food and had some sort of emergency we had to tend to, but we've never been those type of people and decided to give it a chance. I ordered the bbq chicken flatbread and my boyfriend ordered the big bear burger (something like that). I took one bite of a small piece of cut up chicken and that was the one and only thing I ate. I couldn't continue. It was rubbery and made my stomach feel worse. My boyfriend's burger's mushroom were barely cooked. That is the only bite he took. We asked for our check from a different server who asked if we wanted boxes and we said no thank you. When our original server came back with the check, she also asked if we wanted boxes. I'm sure she could clearly see our food was untouched, especially mine (my boyfriend's burger was cut in half but that's it). We didn't want to be difficult and just wanted to get out of there before throwing up. Most places would say "Was there something wrong with the food? Would you like something else?" Nope, nothing. It wasn't her fault and she was still tipped 20%, but we don't ever see ourselves going back there again or bringing family and friends there. How so many people were downing their food...

Response to Owner Comment: How do you think finding a hair under my food and then being accused of putting it there a satisfying experience??? We will definitely NEVER come to this establishment again since this is your response to an honest review of a disgusting experience!

Update: we did return to this restaurant and ordered the same sammy as we loved it so much. Picked up the sammy off the plate to find a long black hair! So gross! The waitress came and took the plate back to the kitchen then returned to say nobody on staff has black hair in a very accusatory tone, well guess what, neither do I!!! So, I told her, if that is the case then you did not wash the dishes which is even more disgusting than one of the staff just dropping a hair on the plate accidentally. We both refused to eat that day and have not been back and I'm not sure if we will ever as nobody with blonde hair likes to be accused of dropping a long black hair UNDER the greasy sandwich! So, so gross and totally disrespectful to customers!!!

First time here and loved it!! Atmosphere is great, staff is friendly and attentive, which is difficult these days for most places being short-handed (but TOM staff did not disappoint), and FANTASTIC food!! Had the short rib grilled cheese and it was amazing - the meat was cooked perfectly and the flavor combo of the sammy is spot on. I'm definitely returning to try the rest...
