I came here for my godsister’s birthday dinner. I had high hopes because this place has great reviews about the food. We had a reservation for 8. When my godsis and I came to the front door, the MANAGER Bob, greeted us and asked if we still had 8. We said no it’s 7 now. He said okay and proceeded to sit us. A few moments later 3 other people show up making us a table of 5. We ordered drinks and they were great! When I went to the bathroom. Bob decided to fix his lips saying that if the rest of our party didn’t show up he would have to move us to a smaller table and that we shouldn’t have been seated. Even though HE sat us. He blamed it on the waitress as well like we couldn’t remember that he sat us. Being rubbed the wrong way, I continued to observe Bob’s behavior and he lacks basic managerial skills. He often mistreated his staff, talked down to them and yelled. I don’t know how they haven’t filed anything against this man. Is this how Prime treats both its customers and staff?
If you’re wondering how the food was, it was okay at best. Small portions FYI. I had no issues with my steak (asked for medium) but the birthday girl’s steak was well done when she asked for medium. Bob then proceeded to say that there was nothing he could do to rectify the situation. How can a manager state he cannot do anything? I’m just surprised he didn’t blame the cook and somehow threw it on the waitress. We were completely floored and was pretty much ready to go. As things were wrapping up both Bob and the waitress started packing our food. Bob places my food in a bag in front of me but the waitress decided to put 2 of our to go bags ON THE FLOOR!!! When I questioned her on why she put it on the floor she stated so we can see each other….. I said if we are wrapping up it shouldn’t be an issue and that it would be better if she leaves that decision up to the customer since the floor may not seem like the best place for food for most. She proceeded to say she’s been serving for 13 years and no one has ever complained about putting their food on the floor and that the fire department has never had an issue either with her putting it on the floor. She could have just said I understand and kept her comment to herself. I don’t know anyone who likes their food on the floor so I assume she just blurted anything in defense to her unwise actions.
I will not be back to this establishment as they lack common sense. Bob is also not qualified to run the place. If you need better steak options, I can send you to some really good places instead of wasting your time with an ill equipped...
Read moreI wish they had an option for NO stars!!!! This experience deserves a complete THUMBS DOWN. We “dined” here on 8/3/2024. We placed a $200 deposit to reserve the SMALL space upstairs that was not big enough to accommodate our 15 person party but we allowed that to slide because it was a 19th birthday celebration. We ordered our food, four of the meals were Salmon. All four of the meals the were “disgusting”. We asked for them to be changed. The manager Mia told us that she went to the kitchen and tried the fish and it was “ nothing wrong with it”. Three of the four people explained to her the concern and asked for the meal to be taken back… she refused. We then explained that we were not willing to pay for food that we were not pleased with AND then was not eaten. One of the four people ate a fourth of it so we were willing to pay for it. Mia refused again and walked away saying “ THEY WILL BE ON YOUR BILL” Our total bill came to $994. We subtracted the three uneaten meals from the bill which came to a total of 86.10 and were willing to pay the rest of the bill INCLUDING all of the tip for the waitress ( we didn’t remove the 20% for those three meals). She called CROWN POINT POLICE as if we were trying to skip out on paying the bill. Thank God for Crown Point Police. When they arrived we explained the situation. Even they were in disbelief. They saw all three pictures of the untouched meals (we took pictures because they were trying to discarded them before the police arrived). The police said the call they received from Mia was that a party was skipping out on the meal but saw that WE were all calmly at the entrance with the bill and money in hand. Even a few patrons of the restaurant said “ they were trying to pay for what they ate”. This experience was degrading and humiliating. Needless to say we only paid for what we ate. WE will NEVER step foot in this establishment again. I will let anybody that mentions this restaurant know about this horrific experience. Pictures of all three meals and the one that we were willing to pay for because a part of it was...
Read moreI eat dinner here often because the food is great but I’ll never eat here again! On October 3, 2021 l ordered a steak meal w/lobster and sides to go totaling $134.71 plus a$10 tip. Subsequently, l was double charged for the order and brought it to their attention on October 6th. I was told the other charge would fall off in a few days but l knew differently being that I work in banking and was SURE that l was double charged. The manager, Tula asked me to call back in a few days if nothing changed. I waited 7 days instead for good measure. Long story short, I had to place several phone calls to track Tula down because she never called back and she was the only one with the authority to refund the money. Everyone remembered who l was because as mentioned, l eat there often and the lady, Margie who was very polite remembered the incident. I spoke to Tula a week ago and she then says that the credit card company said i did a debit dispute and she has a slip saying I was already given a refund! If it were true, she never gave me the courtesy of a phone call. But of course, that wasn’t true or she had her customers mixed up. Today when I walked in to the restaurant to request the refund, I asked who was the owner a young man claiming to be the manager was rude to me! I asked for Tula, who was there but repeated the credit card explanation. I used my debit card not credit card! Anyway, after all this time, I had to pull up my bank statement to prove my card double charged after it had already been proven and acknowledged of the mistake TWO MONTHS AGO! There was no apology, no gift card for a bottled water or anything…just a ‘here’s your card and your receipt’. Nothing suggesting that she cared about my business whatsoever! I will take my business elsewhere! I probably shouldn’t visit Theo’s or Avgo anymore either since they are...
