Twelve Islands — Restaurant in Center Township

We went there for the first time on Saturday. The restaurant is cute, and small. The food was great and came out fresh within five minutes of ordering . The reason for three stars is because I felt sad eating here. Our hostess sat us down and took our drink order to help out the server. The server comes by and the hostess tells her that our table is for another server as this server will receive a larger table. Our server tells her that she is taking both tables and tells the hostess to get away from her. Our server’s name starts with a D but I won’t post it on here. Anyway our server was very nice to us but was mean mugging the hostess then walking into her. After that another server grabbed a plate of food from the window that I guess was not for her table. She returns with the plate and asks the cook to make another. He starts throwing his arms in the air all dramatic. He starts talking down to her and telling her she should pay attention. The server apologizes for her mistake but the cook kept laying into her. The staff is very mean to one another. I would never want to work or know these individuals on a personal level. The world is toxic enough and you should be nice to your coworkers as you are all in it together. I hope management sees this and sees how their employees are...

TWELVE ISLANDS Greek Restaurant of Crown Point IN., is conveniently located on Main St. within the heart of this charming town. I noticed the venue filled with customers around dinner hour. The atmosphere was lovely with framed pictures of Greece on the wall. The menu served American fare & choices plentiful as well as seating nice & our server very good! The acoustics were also very good within this smaller venue filled with customers. My food arrived within a reasonable amount of time but to give an honest review I was underwhelmed. Much could have been improved upon such as taste, temperature with toasted pita. The portion size was good & all in all a very nice dining experience. Checkout was at the register & owner came over promptly for us. I was surprised, however, that he did not look at us once during the checkout process or ask us how our “dining experience” was :( ??? We come here often and we don’t usually have this place. i!. I to be able to tip money at restaurants when i’m able. But as people know in this economy the basic salary is not paying people enough to be able to afford necessities and activities. So people find enjoyment in being able to afford activities as such as going out to eat. But some weeks are harder and people can’t afford to tip. And nobody should be talked about because of it, especially when that person is near around.. today we went and heard our server talking and making snide comments about us not tipping. it is not the customer’s responsibility to pay you what your service provider can’t. If you have issues with the money you’re making take that to the higher up’s. Don’t gossip about customers, or if it is really that serious atleast wait until the customer isn’t in ear shot.
