My husband took me here as a surprise anniversary date, and it did not disappoint! I will say, we did order quite a bit, but it was worth trying multiple things. Food: For starters, we had miso soup, house salad and their kimchi pancake. The miso soup was amazing bit salty for my palate. The house salad paired perfectly with the ginger dressing as it was crispy and tangy. Lastly, the kimchi pancake or buchimgae, texture wise - spot on like we remembered from South Korea. Unfortunately, the flavor was missing that kimchi kick and it felt that the batter wasn't salted enough. However, it was still very good. If they served it with the Korean mayo dip sauce, I think it may have paired quite well with this. The main dishes we ordered brought us back to our traveling days in South Korea. The bibimbap was spot on! The vegetable soon tofu, was delicious, but reminded me more of sujebi then it did soon dubu. The flavor was very different, but I assume because it was missing the typical ingredients as this was a vegetarian version. But don't get me wrong it was still delicious. It tasted more like sujebi to me, which if they had that option, I'd be all over this dish. The sushi rolls were also very delectable. The seaweed roll, surprised me most in terms of it's taste. I really enjoyed the slight crunch to it. It's hard to describe the flavor combination, but I really enjoyed it. For those that aren't for the "slimy" texture as some might describe it, this wouldn't be for you. Honestly, was a great pair with rice and nori. We also tried their kabuki naruto, which was good, but didn't have that vinegar kick that we were used to. But it was still very delicious. The mafia roll was probably our favorite. It was spectacular! They had a great variety of sushi with vegetarian options. Overall, the food to me was 9/10. My husband rated it an 11/10. But you be the judge and try it for yourself. Atmosphere: Reminded me of the small Korean restaurants we would visit. We loved the feel of it being close by. I was almost tempted to shout my order like they do in SK. Hahahaha 😆 But it's a place that can accommodate various outing situations. Whether you're on a fancy date, a casual family get together or a friends night out, this place is great no matter the occasion. A definite 10/10. Service: Our waiter was very friendly and attentive. He was ready to clean our table of empty dishes to free space for more food. Hahahaha 😆. He was very patient and extremely kind. The managers were also very sweet. They found out we went to Korea so they gave is some homemade kimchi. We had no idea they served it, but it was a nice treat. Overall experience was a 10/10

EATER BEWARE!!!! Hubby and I decided to have lunch at Kabuki today. We thought it would be a nice treat for us both. WRONG!!! Things started off fine, until one of our appetizers (The Monkey Balls) came out (after our main entrees were already on the table). The timing wasn't a problem, but the Wasabi sauce was. We kindly asked if we could get another order without the Wasabi sauce because I cannot have it and was told they don't take food back. We said, ok that's fine, hubby will just have to eat it all. A few minutes later, the waiter came back and said he asked in the back and they agreed to REMAKE the order. We were so grateful and appreciative. The waiter came back with what we thought was a fresh order and said "wow, they even gave you guys a bigger portion". Complete BS. As I looked at the appetizer, I realized it was the same order that was taken into the back, where the sauce was wiped, scraped or washed off, re-dunked back in tempura batter and refried again. I thought I was being paranoid, until, I peeled off the freshly fried batter, only to see the old tempura with wasabi residue peering back at me. We were in complete disbelief and realized that all those horrible thoughts about sending food back were coming true. Bottom line, if you had no intention of remaking the order, just leave it, since we said it was fine. Second, I specifically said, I cannot have Wasabi and there was still residue. Suppose, I ingested it??? Completely irresponsible on their part. Eater beware, if Kabuki recycled our food like this, imagine what other foods they might have recycled before you sat down for your meal. Is table 4's uneaten gyozas or miso soup, now your newly prepared meals. Giving a customer something they told you they cannot eat, in disguise form is truly unbelievable and cruel. This UNETHICAL and DANGEROUS act needs to be reported.

This place is a hidden gem in Centerville. I have been here a few times and they are never super busy during lunch. My recommendation is to skip the lunch menu and dive right into the dinner one. I love Korean pancakes and while the seafood one had a good flavor it could have been cooked a bit longer. The dolsot is a great dish to share. Nothing beats the crunchy rice. The combination of eel, egg, and rice is rich and delicious. All of the sushi is decent here. Not my favorite but if you enjoy large extravagant rolls it's your place. Pro tip: skip the miso soup and get the spicy veggie. The unami and spicy flavors from the kimchi is a great palette cleanser for any seafood dish.

UPDATE 7-10-2021..... It was horrible. Our server, no idea what his name was, he never said. Short, beard, horrible server. There were 2 other servers. One that was tall, he was awesome, the other had a ponytail and glasses. He was also awesome. Our server....never mind. Just make sure you don't get him. My food came out 15 minutes before Kev's sashimi. Our server was SUPPOSED to let us know that the sushi chefs were filling to go orders 1st before dining room customers and the wait was an hour for dine in customers!!! I had ordered Shrimp Tempura. The server dropped our check off when the other server dropped off the Sashimi (9 pieces and a roll). He never asked if Kev needed more hot tea. I only ate one piece of my tempura, it's nasty cold. I finally asked the tall server for a box. WE WON'T BE EATING IN HERE EVER AGAIN Any restaurant that puts to go orders before its dine in customers is not getting my $$$$ !!!! We had to wait for a table, that's understandable, to go orders should be told a time that allows the chefs to serve dine in customers or close the dining room!!!!!

Review from 8 months ago..... Love this place!...
