I was thrilled to ingest and binge out on ice cream tacos. One may wonder why this culinary creation did not get introduced or become a chain any sooner. But the combination of tacos, different ice cream flavors, and blend-from-scratch texture ingredients seemed forced and artificial - and if anything, it was just sugar-laden item mashed with another sugar-laden item. The taco was cloyingly sweet and neon-bright with food coloring. The ice-cream was insanely sweet. And the texture ingredients blended with ice-cream was just bits of things with no flavor because the sweetness from the taco and ice cream just overpowered everything else. Could taste any flavors of cereal or chocolate chip or any coffee flavor for the coffee based ice cream tacos.
I was hoping to try a second ice cream taco but my blood sugar was pegged just two bites into the first ice cream taco. It was unfortunate with the range of ingredients that interesting flavors like ube, guava, lychee, cafe du monde could have been created. Great concept, great location, but I walked away with memories of diabete-triggering dreams.
The staff was great - this review is just about the cloyingly sweet ice cream...
Read moreThey're currently understaffed and it takes some time to get your order (they've a board thanking us for our patience). But the staff diligently prepare the rolled ice cream and make sure that the presentation is on point.
The rolled ice cream in itself is very thick and consists of the right amount of ingredients they mix in(strawberry+ golden Oreo in my case) . However, the taco as a container of rolled ice cream is not that great of a fit. It's tricky to eat and the actual taco box in which they provide the whole thing doesn't help either.
They do offer rolled ice cream in cups though. I'd imagine those would be much easier to eat.
Would've loved to have more options with banana. (yes we could customize, but still).
The tables are a bit sticky. Could use some cleaning. But the staff have got their hands full with fulfilling orders. So,...
Read moreIâm not sure how long this place has been open. But the place looks awesome! The inside was very clean and I enjoyed the vibes.
I got the strawberry shortcake and sâmores galore. I highly recommend the shortcake!! It was doused in a strawberry sauce and whip cream with 2 pocky sticks! The ice cream was creamy and tasted like, strawberry ice cream! It didnât have that artificial strawberry taste (thank god). The sâmores galore was very sweet but it was more of a chocolate Sunday. There wasnât enough of the marshmallow. The star of the show of a sâmore, is the marshmallow, and unfortunately that light was very dim. So any sâmores lovers out there, Iâd choose something else đ°
The wait time after a busy Sunday night was a bit long, but theyâre short staffed and are still learning. I donât hold that against them. Their customer service was...
