What's your flava? Tell me what's your flava?
Man, whatever happened to Craig David? He had a couple jams, then fell off the musical map. "7 days" was a good baby making song, too ;p
Flavor Pho, formerly Pho 79, occupies prime real estate in the 85C Bakery plaza. I'm a soup guy, and having chest congestion and a hacking cough, I needed some hot soup for my soul. Let's see what Flavor Pho has goin on, shall we?
Bun bo hue (regular size)- Spicy beef noodle soup simmered in a lemongrass beef broth, thick rice noodles, beef shank, beef tendon, pork roll, garnished with onions, cilantro & scallions. Yes, ma'am, may I have another? Adding dollops of sriracha to adjust the heat to my liking, the bun bo hue was comforting & soothing. The various cuts of meat were tender & rich, especially the pork. It reminded me of chashu. The thick rice noodles were, indeed, thick. I would've preferred more bite to them, like udon, but they proved filling. The broth was light & clean. Besides sriracha, I added a few squeezes of hoisin to make things nice & salty. Hey, you gotta! The bun bo hue was delicious & a decent portion.
Service was good. My attendant was friendly & hospitable. Another individual asked if I wanted my water refilled, which I obliged. Plenty of seating, with tables contributing to the handsome wooden décor.
Parking is in a private lot at the 85C Bakery plaza. Finding a space is hard to come by during the peak hours, so I recommend parking at the Carl's Jr. plaza directly behind Flavor Pho.
Flavor Pho is wonderpho! Great good, competitive prices & a warm, welcoming ambiance are what endear me to the place. In a sea crowded with pho restaurant islands, it's nice to see a new pho atoll pop up and distinguish itself amongst the rest. Being in a location I frequent often, I'm definitely coming back to try Flavor Pho's other offerings.

Read moreAbsolutely my number one place for pho. Anthony and Sun (owners, I believe) are always so attentive and polite and welcoming. The only place I know that has grilled chicken pho. Once I discovered that here, that’s the reason I kept coming … but they’ve absolutely won me over with their amazing and courteous service. Also … I always come by myself (haven’t gotten to bring friends here with me yet), and when they’re busy, I always feel bad that I’m taking the space on a four seat table when they could be making more by seating me at one of the few 2 seat tables they have - I offer to wait for a smaller table to open up … but they always insist (and show!!!) that one customer is just as important as a large party. They will not take no for answer and always seat me when it’s my turn, even if they can seat a larger party at the time. (In fact, the whole reason I’m finally leaving this review is because I was searching for another pho place because I’m in a different city for the evening, and I read how one place kept a woman’s husband from being seated because he was by himself … they chose to seat larger parties that came after him, and kept him waiting … so I had to leave the review for this place because I realized even more how special this place is for the way they treat all customers equally). Truly, even other businesses could learn from how this place treats its customers. Appreciate you guys and the way you do things!! (And the...
Read moreYummy soup! Perfect place to go on a cold day.
My girlfriend and I stopped here yesterday for some lunch. As busy and full as the parking lot was, this restaurant was nearly empty with only 3 parties in there around lunch time! It seems like most of the people that were parked there went to get dim sum, AYCE sushi, or Korean BBQ.
We knew what we wanted to order (we normally order the same thing everywhere). We ordered A2. Shrimp and Pork Spring Rolls, I got P2. Rare Steak, and she got P1. Flavor Pho Combination.
The results:
A2. Shrimp and Pork Spring Rolls: They come in a pair with each cut in half. Accompanied by the usual sauce with peanuts in it. It tasted refreshing and was pretty good.
P2. Rare Steak: I feel like most people order this as it's simple and good. The soup was delicious. I ordered an extra side of rare steak for more protein :). Good soup!
P1. Flavor Pho Combination: My girlfriend said it was really good and she finished a large bowl plus the spring rolls! That says a lot.
Service was good. The man who greeted us and helped us out was always smiling and cheerful. We sat ourselves and was helped immediately.
Parking was a little bit of a pain since it was packed due to the other restaurants in the plaza. There's only a few spots in the front of the restaurant, and unfortunately two of the spots in front are for curbside pickup for AT&T (what the heck!).
I recommend this pho place if you're...
