It doesn't matter if you win or lose....
as long as you THAI!
I've been receiving Monora's advertisements in the mail for awhile now and finally decided to order some food today. I went with the January special of Chicken Pad Thai w/ Chicken Sate along with your choice of soup or salad, 2 egg rolls & 2 wontons. Called ahead for p/u in 10-15 minutes.
The restaurant was visually appealing. Each table had a candle as a centerpiece & various artwork & sculptures adorned the walls. Definitely didn't miss the dragon situated between the tables against the wall. Very nice.
Coming home, I dug into my order. The soup was sufficient. It consisted of broccoli, chicken, cabbage, carrots & 1 shrimp. It seemed like hot water was poured on these ingredients and labelled "soup". The egg rolls & wontons were good. Crunchy & spicy thanks to the sweet chili sauce. The pad thai was very good, too. It wasn't too sour so it's perfect for those that don't prefer strong flavors. The 4 chicken sate were tasty, especially when smothered in the delectable peanut sauce. Everything for $7.95. None too shabby, my dear Watson.
My first time here and I consider Monora a winner. The restaurant is very close by & the specials will keep sucking you in, no matter how much you fight them. For once, forego your local drive-thru & pump n' munch and head to Monora for some tasty Thai...
Read moreFirst of all, the service needs a lot of improvement. Every time we tried to call the older waitress over, she was too busy with other things. My friend had asked for brown rice, and she brought him white rice. Then, when he insisted on brown rice, she turned around with that very same bowl and asked me if I wanted white rice or brown with the dish that I had ordered. Why wasn't I asked this sooner? When it comes to spice levels, if all they know is "mild, medium, spicy", then why the h* does the menu say things like "negligible", "reasonable", etc...? I suggest everyone else announce their spice levels according to the menu, and get a good laugh as well. While Thais don't use chopsticks predominantly like the rest of Asia, it would have been nice to at least provide a fork on top of the spoon for the noodle dish that was asked. With just a spoon alone, the contents kept slipping off. Flavor-wise, the curry needed more flavor. Not as thick, it was too watery. The fish I ordered was OK at least, in that it was cooked well, the skin was crispy at certain parts, but the sauce that they used didn't seep into the flavor of the fish. Still OK. The uncooked baby peppers were a nice touch. That was honestly a first anywhere else. If I had to come back and give them another try on the food, I think I'd get takeout next time, and just avoid the...
Read moreOMG??? EVERYTHING WAS SO GOOD??? Okay let me go in order. The Thai tea.. was the best Thai tea I've had in so long, and for the portion the price was just right in my opinion just as the other meals, PLENTY FOOD FOR SUCH REASONABLE PRICES IS CRAZY THESE DAYS. I got the kimchi tom yum, and omg. See I'm not s big soup person unless it's pho, and this tom up was so good you guys. SO GOOD. It was the right amount of spicy and sour and the kimchi tasted so fresh. We also got the cucumber salad, and this was new to me because I usually get cucumber salad at restaurants but the style, presentation, and taste was completely new. I liked it I definitely did enjoy it, it's my second favorite kind of cucumber salad right now. I also got the cream cheese wontons, the crispyness of the wonton itself was decent and the cheese was so smooth I enjoyed it AND IT WASNT ONLY 4 PEICES GUYS THIS IS IMPORTANT IT WAS LIKE 8 FOR AROUND 8 BUCKS??? WOW. My boyfriend got the pineapple fried rice, I'm not s big fan or fried rice or anything but he really liked it and it was a big portion and he almost finished all of it. I ASKED FOR BOXES FOR EVERYTHING BECAUSE GOOD FOOD LIKE THAT SHOULDNT BE LEFT BEHIND. The atmosphere was super calm and I really enjoyed myself please this place...
