American Deli — Restaurant in Chamblee

The absolute worse American Deli in all of Georgia. I went in this evening---ordered a 20 pc (dry rub) lemon pepper all drums. No biggie, right? The order total came out to 19.05. I gave the cashier my card to pay for the order and she runs my card for $199.05. She then proceeds to panic only to realize that moments later it's not her money and nonchalantly proceed ringing other customers up as if I would just take my chicken and forget the extra $180. She then senses that I'm not budging and ask for the assistance of one of the women that is working the grill. 10 mins later and much to the chagrin of customers behind me, I'm credited the extra charge. Simple right?

Not hardly. Remember that 20 pc? She (the cashier) then calls my number only to ask me what I ordered (by this time, i've been in the restaurant 35 mins and have already seemingly paid $200 for the order. I say this because almost immediately the $199.05 was taken out of my account--but it'll take 2-4 business days for the credit to take effect) . Nevertheless, 10 more minutes she calls my order number again and I go to retrieve my order. There's 20 pieces of chicken, all drums but they are wet. The cashier senses my frustration and begins to apologize while whisking my wrong order to the back to be prepared correctly.

10 mins later---she calls me back up to the counter. She proceeds to sprinkle the dry rub onto the wings. As luck and my frustration looms, the damn top of the dry rub lemon pepper seasoning comes off the container ---dashing my wings with more than the desired lemon pepper flavoring. Her response "Just shake the container and most of it will fall off the wings".

So angered and out of almost $200 for the next few days, I sit in the booth that my famished girlfriend has already taken up residence and prepare to eat the most expensivest (c) 2Chainz wings ever sold in Metro Atlanta. This would almost be the most horrible ending to an otherwise sh*tty story, right?

Wrong.

We start tearing into the wings (We've been there almost an hour w/o food) and what do we discover? Those wings we sent back that had the wet lemon pepper sauce on 'em---they weren't remade. These bumblephucks decided that in the interest of profit that they'd just take the incorrect wings and drop them back in grease for a couple minutes to "fry the old sauce off" and them hand them back to me.

You ever attempted to eat, double lemon-y pepper-ish wings? Don't. It's nasty. About as nasty as this establishment as a whole. Don't go here. Matter of fact, just walk across the parking lot to Wal-Mart and proceed to eat a pack of raw chicken wings. Sure you'll risk salmonella and whatnot, but the experience will be far more pleasurable than American...

The food was good. Your classic american deli i ordered the philly cheese steak with fries. I wanted honey bbq put onto my fries but i was told a rule for this location is that their not allowed to do that. You have to purchase it on the side. Other locations add the sauce no problem they just charge as if its on the side. Already a little annoyed but then im told itll be $1.50 for the tiny honey bbq on the side 50 cent for honey and $1 for bbq. If i was actually getting my fries tossed and they were saucy i wouldnt mind paying that but im getting a tiny container that wont even last half of my fries. I was told its $3 for a cup of ice (WILD) and to top it off despite it saying close at 9 this location actually closes at 840/45pm they stop taking orders. I think its absurd to advertise closing at 9 but its actually 20 mins earlier. A few people were turn away because of the time. Which sucks because they used their gas to drive here to make it according to whats online 9pm, just to not make it because of the "rules" . The employees were nice and had decent customer service. I think all the owners crazy rules makes this location one I wouldn't want to frequent especailly when other locations have less rules and i can be happy with my order being fullilled to my desired request and they close at the time...

I can not even begin to explain my experice. First of all, they have NO customer service skills, the dining area is very filthy, the trash can is never pulled, half the time people just end up leaving their trash outside the trash can, the floor is sticky and trashy when you walk in. I'm sure all of this alone contributes to the roach problem mentioned in their 77 scored health inspection! We were eating there tonight and ordered our food at 9pm, at 9:05 we had our meal. While we were eating, they were shutting the lights off to indicate they were closed . Their closing time shouldn't be until 10pm. Then the RUDE girl comes out, & without wipping the tables off first, starts putting the chairs on the tables and then started SWEEPING while we were still eating! RUDE as hell. At 9:10, two people walk in, and she turns them around saying they're closed. We ask her why they were closing before 10pm & she got an attitude. Then she turned another person away. Why are you closing a whole hour early before your original closing time? Nasty butts didn't even wipe anything down. I will NEVER eat here again, and I would advise anyone else to do the same. If you're standing around on your cell phone when i walk in, then you have time to clean. This place is disgusting, just like their...
