I ordered a cake for my wedding that took place on August 25th 2024. I asked if it could be delivered & the manager Shay told me that she would advise against it because they would deliver it messed up. So I said ok The day before the wedding we were to pick up the cake & I thought they would call to let us know when it was ready. They never called, I was running errands on Saturday & did not realize it until around 6:45 pm & they were closed & were not open on Sunday the day of the wedding. So I had no cake at my wedding. I went to address it with them on Monday morning the day after the wedding & encountered the store owner. When I expressed my disappointment to her, she said we don’t do courtesy calls for cakes. I said but this wasn’t an ordinary cake, this was a wedding cake! She proceeded to say I’m going to go in the back and see if the cake is here. She comes back & wants to give me the cake. I said, “ma’am the wedding was yesterday, I no longer need the cake. She was trying not to give me a refund. My husband then comes in & asked was she going to process the refund. She says’ yeah, I’ll go ahead & eat the cost. Very insensitive!! She did not care that I had no cake at my wedding just the ingredients & cost she was out of. Read moreThe girl who took my order on the 11th was SO VERY helpful. However, the 12 Buntinis came out in a larger cake box brought out by another girl. Later on when I opened the box, they had all fallen forward out of their little compartments. I do no believe I did that since I had been so very careful to keep the box flat. On the 16th, I picked up two more boxes of Buntinis…this time opening the boxes checking to see that the Buntinis were are intact…which they were. However, the girl retrieving to order was quite snobbish saying I could check the boxes if I wanted to. She put the boxes in a bag I bought, but I noticed later when I got home that the lid had been pushed down. While she was putting them in the bag, I walked around looking at other items. (I had asked her to reseal the boxes I had opened after checking them. I assumed she didn’t hear me since it wasn’t done.) Read moreWe just had an insane experience at the Champaign location. The manager Sara was doing an in-person interview in the middle of the lobby while taking customers. It was the most condescending, unprofessional, and degrading interview I’ve ever witnessed. She went on and on about a 3 day trial for a job and how they are like a family so this young girl needed to be prepared for the strictest requirements for a retail bakery job.
