I'm a local contractor that shops at Menards almost everyday..off the shelf .. would not special order from them again š.. worst service every .. the delivery driver pulls up in the driveway and gets out cursing at his life and how Menards don't bleep bleeping bleep care about me and no we don't bring your stove or refrigerator into the house !! That service isn't available..š .. but yet the 20k worth of cabinets and appliances we paid for also paid to have them delivered in home ..not dump them in the driveway and run .. he complained and complained about Menards and how they don't bleeping care if I'm out till midnight .. blah blah blah.. completely unprofessional .. the stove was damaged, the fridge was damaged,a cabinet had a forklift fork through it and multiple other damaged items to the cabinets like drawers, drawer faces and missing parts .. ugh it was the worse remodel ever .. took us 45 days longer because of the delays on missing or damaged items ,wrong cabinets or the special order people not even getting to return of damaged items from the driver so they would reorder the items .. Our company spends 100k a year minimum buying products from Menards.. not anymore.. all our special orders now are handled from Lowe's with a smile and a professional delivery driver .. Menards driver of 10 years they say ... Is the worst but they keep him around ... I wonder why Lowe's is now #1 ? I wonder why lol Good luck Menards in Danville Illinois.. learn what service and quite really stand for and maybe .. just maybe y'all might stop losing $ .. other then the worthless store manager Corey .. the rest of the staff are pretty nice and know what's where .. and they seem to work harder then need be all cause of just 2 employee that don't care about the service or quality .. poor manager of cabs had to work even more to reorder our cabinets like 5 times..she was wonderful tho..Joeann I believe was her name ..she was really our savior on cabinets and very professional .. the countertop of natural Stone .. 4k cost .. we cancelled do to the delivery drivers inability to deliver products with damage so š. Naa we went to Maxwell counters from farmer city for them and a awesome job they did to save the project.. thanks guys .. hope this helps anyone that's thinking Menards for special orders.. don't...
Ā Ā Ā Read morePurchased two Schlage electronic deadbolts for my house. They did not work, as the lock cylinder was too large and did not allow for my storm doors to shut fully. I returned them, and chose in-store credit. I immediately went into the store and purchased two different deadbolt sets. Took them home and installed them. One worked, one had evidently been purchased and returned. The UPC number has been hand-written on the box and the programming code had been written in pencil in the owners manual. As I tried to program my own code into the lock, which requires you to enter the programming code (a 6-digit number) it would not allow the entry of a 6-digit number, preventing me from entering my own user code, or using the lock at all. I purchased the last two of these locks from Menards, so I couldnāt swap out the lock for a different one. I purchased another one at a different store and when I brought the product back to Menards, they would only give me store credit, since thatās what I bought it with. $130 of in-store credit that I donāt need or want. This product had obviously been returned already and then re-stocked. I purchased it defective and just get in-store credit. Not only that, but the lady working the service desk acted as if I was lying to her as she looked over every piece carefully. She pulled out the latch piece (internal piece) that had some spray paint on it (there when I got it out of the box) and proclaimed, āwell this piece isnāt new!ā Well, lady, thatās what you sold me, if you couldnāt tell, itās obviously been returned at least once. It is defective, donāt put it back on your shelf. I had this happen to me with a smart thermostat that had been returned too. I ended up returning that too as someone had already used the UPC number to get the rebate from Ameren Illinois and had registered the product with Honeywell already and it was useless to me. Make your own call, but these were my...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWent to this store to buy a storage shed. Knew exactly what I wanted, but was not very familiar with the store. I found the unit on display and tried to ask a few employees how I can purchase it. I'm familiar enough with retail stores to know that the sku number is important to have so I took a picture of the sku on the display. The first person I ran into was a older gentleman that seems to be a assembly guy as I saw him putting together a mower later on. My wife and I asked him if he could help us get someone to get a storage unit down. His response was " I can't get anyone, you need to go to the lumber desk" and quickly walked away" we walked around looking for the lumber desk and could not find anything labeled that, so we found another employee in the seasonal area and I asked him if he could help us with a storage unit.. he paused and looked at my wife and I as if we had completely intruded on his activity.... He replied after a 30 second pause while looking at me as if I was an idiot " go back there and find someone". He didn't even point when he said that... So at this point I thought perhaps if I walked to a cashier with the sku they could just ring me up. No such luck. The cashier told us to go to back there and find someone... We walked back to the corner of the store again and decided to ask the people at the Mill work desk. A kind gentleman named Marc rang us up finally. It took us 45 minutes to get this done. Everyone seemed bothered by us asking them for help except for Marc... I guess customers are expected to know this place In order to do business here. Very poor...
