Decided to try out a local diner, and found this place. Took my family, and got to enjoy a good breakfast! I would say this is a solid mid-level breakfast spot. If you're looking for super fancy attention to menu details, or homemade specialty items or dressings, this is not THAT place. If you just want a good cup of coffee and a tasty meal that's not gonna break your pockets, they got you. I ordered the Grilled Chicken Bacon Apple Fritter Sandwich(which is exactly what it sounds like chicken, bacon, and cheese between two slices of a fried apple fritter), my family ordered the chicken fried steak, and also the two and two breakfast, and a cinnamon roll. I got coffee as well. The coffee was decent, not the strongest, but not super weak. It was a little bit of a wait between ordering our food, and getting everything; however, I noticed that most of our wait staff was older folk. I don't know if that's always the case, but noticing that, I decided to be very patient. (And if that is the usual staff, and you complain about the delay, shame on you. Respect your elders.)The food was delicious! I was a little leery of the apple fritter sandwich, but it was crispy and bacon cheesy with just a touch of sweet from the fritter bread! Really effin good, and I highly recommend trying it if you like sweet hot crispy flavor! The regular breakfast items were well done and pretty standard, bacon, eggs, etc. Nothing exceptional, but nothing terrible. The country fried steak was crispy and good, and covered in a good amount of gravy. We had American fries (the chunky fried potato bites type), and they could have been a lil bit crispier, but they were cooked well and yummy. Oh, yeah, we had french toast too, and that was buttered and syrupy and good too! Nothing exceptional (like compote, or homemade syrup, or anything like that) but a solid good french toast! Overall, I feel like this was a decent local breakfast joint with solid food. The prices weren't crazy, and the food was decent. The staff was nice enough, and the place was Minnesotan Cabin style decor(Cabin-chic, if you will), and clean. If you want a good mid level breakfast experience, I recommend it! I have plans to go back and try the Bagel Burger, and perhaps the bacon and cream cheese omelette! Enjoy!❤️

I had the pleasure of visiting The L'l Bar in Champlin last evening, and it turned out to be a delightful surprise. Initially planning to try Huddy's Cafe, we discovered that they closed at 2:00. However, we were pleasantly surprised to find a quaint little bar connected to the cafe that was still open. The ambiance was cool and inviting, and the bar was filled with friendly patrons and a warm atmosphere. The service was exceptional, with attentive staff ensuring a pleasant experience throughout our visit. The food offered at The L'l Bar was delicious, and the prices were reasonable. Needless to say, we were thoroughly impressed and can't wait to return

Went for breakfast on a Sunday morning. The server took orders from two other parties that came in after we did before they took our order Normally I don't have an issue with service - especially when it's busy, but we didn't even get a "we'll be right with you" or any kind of acknowledgment that they knew we were there. Food was ok, even though my eggs were overcooked in the Eggs Benedict. I'm in zero rush to go back there.

Great place, I cannot rate the food other than to say it was well prepared. Unfortunately I will not be eating here again because the food is prepared with vegetable oil. My diet is free of vegetable oil because it is unhealthy. I have had it out of my diet for more than 5 years. I did eat a meal and an hour or so after eating it I became quite groggy and bloated with quite a headache. I also experienced hot flashes and got quite sweaty and an unwanted visit to the bathroom a few more hours after eating dew to cramping in my lower gut. This only happens to me when I eat food prepared with vegetable oil. I should have asked my server but assumed (bad on me not the restaurant) that this is a real cafe that would be old fashioned. By that I mean cooking everything in lard, butter, or beef tallow. I called the restaurant later that day to find out what was used for cooking and I was told canola oil. This is vegetable oil. The food, in and of its self, was good but the vegetable oil made it unpalitable for me and I foolishly ignored the signs I was starting to feel but was so in the moment of being in your restaurant. Felt like Grandma's. ❤️ I should have known when I was eating it because the familiar taste was there. I just wanted to enjoy the experience because I love the atmosphere here. I did not eat anything the rest of the day as I found myself fixed to the couch with what I call a food hangover and the desire to eat again was the farthest thing away from me lol. Anyway I love the place just can't...

Horrible experience. I stopped in on a Sunday a 4pm to have an early dinner with my wife and my newly wed daughter and hubby. We wanted to try a new place. NEVER AGAIN. We had to walk thru a cloud of smoke both going in and out, they allow smoking outside of the door! We noticed right away the there was a noisy group at the tables near the bar. The music was loud. The server helped us quickly and the three appetizers were pretty good. The noisy group kept getting more and more noisy. We watched the bar tender ask the group to take it down a notch. The waitress apologized to us first, she told us she'd turn up the music to drown them out. That only increased the noise level. The bar tender then served us our meals with were only fair at best. (Rueben sandwich, Steak dinner, Hot Beef dinner, and Grilled cheese with bacon) While serving the food he apologized telling us the group was celebrating his mom's birthday, she's the owner. That is what took it over the top for me, the owner of the place doesn't have the common decency to make sure her patrons are having an enjoyable experience. I would have come back for apps, those were good. But the meals were marginal and the owner doesn't care. I don't care to patronize her...
