My fiance and I were looking for a sweet wine to serve at our wedding, and were initially attracted to Down Time Wines due to their huge variety of unique and sweet flavors! We went in for a tasting and I can say we were astounded by the hospitality and warmth shown to us by the owners. We tried so many delicious flavors that it was difficult to narrow down. We especially loved the Summer Crush, Peach, and Pomberry flavors, but eventually decided our favorite was the magnificent Black Forest dessert wine -- literally tastes like dark chocolate covered cherries! We are so excited for our friends and family to try it! Down Time Wines has such good specials and prices and they even have an option to create your own custom label -- we will be keeping our labelled bottle forever as a sweet wedding keepsake. We can't wait to come back and experience the comedy nights, paint and sip nights, and even just to visit the owners who treat everyone like family. Thank you so much for such an unexpected and special experience!...
Read moreWe stopped in here to do a little tasting and found a couple of gems. Down Time Wines fashion all of their own wines using grapes from their suppliers. Complete all of there own bottling and marketing. This is a great place to stop in and get some wonderful hospitality, taste some uniquely fashioned wines and just simply enjoy yourself. They do have some traditionally fashioned wines like the super Tuscan, Sangiovese and Malbec. They also have a comedy night where stand up comedians provide entertainment, you can attend by reservation only. We have yet to do this, but we are planning for a future date. The wines are healthier because you don’t get the tannins and preservatives put in most other commercially produced wines. Which means you can enjoy them without some of the effects like headaches and possible allergic reactions from those items. Leave your wine snobby ideas behind a give...
Read moreWhile I won't be giving up my love of regular winery tours & tasting rooms anytime soon, I must tell you I think our visit here was a pleasant surprise--though with a very high review average, I kind of anticipated some of that. Owner's Basil & his wife Colleen were the perfect congenial, charming & gracious hosts. Though they can potentially use a little upgrade perhaps in location & presence, don't let that fool you. Many of their unique wines & wine blends are wonderful. For example, never would have thought coffee would pair well with a red type wine, but really enjoyed that blend & bought a bottle. It likely says quite a bit about your quality when a large retail chain like Costco wants to carry at least one of your homemade wines--which they apparently do--and Costco is known to really know their wines & have discerning tastes. Will definitely be returning...
