FAAVA — Restaurant in Chandler

I just went in with the family and giving out my honest opinion I was so excited for this place cuz it looked good. First of all they served the food in a paper plates second portion wise is very small third tell me why the entrees is different than the pictures listed on the screen and on the website. I ordered the chicken kebab and it came out smothered in garlic sauce the picture doesn’t show any garlic sauce on top and even the chicken itself was sliced chicken on the screen shows chunks of chicken it happened with my husband’s plate he ordered the beef kebab and on the screen it shows ground long kebab and his came out round chunks. It happened with our harissa hummus chicken it only came out with one and one piece only while the picture showed multiple pieces. Faava is a small, casual restaurant with an equally small menu of middle eastern food like falafel, hummus, kebabs, and pita bread. We opted for the hummus with harissa chicken, the muhammara dip (charred red pepper, allepo pepper, pomegranate, walnuts), and lamb kebabs with rice and sauces (tahini and tzatziki). First, it was all delicious. The pita was made fresh, minutes before we ate. The pepper dip was new to us but we loved it - sweet and spicy and full of flavor. The hummus with spicy chicken was amazing - not the usual dry chicken kebab meat. Lots of flavor and wonderful with pita. The kebabs were good, but not as flavorful as the rest. We were at the target next door and remembered my friend talking about a Mediterranean restaurant around. We went on a Sunday around 1pm and it was empty. The place is aesthetically done and looks really grand for a quick lunch fix. The menu is super simple and very limited. We ordered chicken kebab which came with rice, falafel and a chicken pita wrap. The food was served in eco friendly containers which was a plus and had lids to take the left over. The food was presented well and was served at the table. The falafel was fresh and the hummus was good too!
