**Update - both owners have reached out to me and apologized for our experience. They do listen to their customer complaints so for that I have updated my review.
I wanted to provide this feedback for the owners of Screamery so they can understand how our family was treated. Last night (July 9 at your Chandler location) around 8 pm we had a very unpleasant encounter with your staff. Let me preface that we've been to your location before and have even invited friends to join us for an ice cream treat there so it wasn't our first time. We go out as a family for ice cream treats often because our kids request it. We enjoy your ice cream as there's some flavors for everyone but unfortunately we won't be back because your staff didn't value us as customers and were rude during our interaction. We are a family of five - with 3 young kids, they get excited about ice cream but last night they were even more excited as we were informed you reinstated giving out samples. I was limiting my kids to trying two flavors and then decide on what to buy. Your staff must have gotten irritated with us and said there's a limit per family and this would be the last sample. I said ok and finished our purchase of 4 ice cream cones. My husband who is a big ice cream fan, refrained from ordering something because he was so put off by her comment and felt that she didn't treat us kindly. It wasn't the limiting of the samples but more of her tone and attitude. I later asked my husband, if he didn't get anything was because of her rudeness. He said yeah - he doesn't want to support a business that doesn't value all customers, big or small. So I decided to ask for a manager or someone in charge, your head cashier let me explain the situation and afterwards offered me a free ice cream for my husband (which he did not take or want). But within my discussion with the head cashier, she was very hesitant to offer me an email for me to voice my complaint and even suggested if I wanted to reach the owners, that I drive to Tucson to do so. At first, I was trying to explain how the attitude and treatment made my husband feel but as I was talking with the head cashier, that same staff member was very condescending with me by saying "have a nice day" but not in which you would expect that statement to sound if it was genuine or sincere. It was said in a tone and manner of, get out of my store. So bottom line is that your staff did not make our family feel welcomed at your store at all and in fact it left us with a bad taste of how you run your business.    Read moreWith crispy cones closed The Screamery is the only standard ice cream spot left in downtown Chandler (outside gelato at George & Gather and ice cream with cookies at Insomia). My family and I like it as the ice cream is pretty good and they have multiple options to choose from. It is a tad bit expensive and depending on the night the servers can be either very friendly or seemingly slightly annoyed. Not real sure why they close at the time they do because it is usually still fairly busy with people coming and going. The past two times we got there 15 minutes prior to close ordered and the four of us sat down at a table inside with several other tables occupied. What was slightly agitating was right at 9pm one of the employees let us and the other tables know, one by one, that the business was closed. So while still finishing our ice cream we politely got up and left. A week later we went in at 8:40pm and noticed they already had the outside tables and chairs stacked and locked up.    Read moreWorst customer service I have ever witnessed. We come here every time we can. But now will never go back. Manager (on the phone) and employee that was working tonight need to be replaced. A customer should never be treated the way we witnessed a guy be treated. He left with his family and we left with ours as did many others. Also, for people on the sidewalk to witness it and then for the employee to call him a liar, threaten to call the police because of a medical condition, and then to mock him and encourage another customer to beat him up? Holy cow, this place needs an overhaul and some serious training. I decided to look up on their website about the company, and the couple that founded them look darling. Their statements are falling on deaf ears tonight though because what they preach they stand for was not what happened tonight at their Arizona Avenue location. They lost customers tonight.
