THE JUICY SEAFOOD — Restaurant in Channelview

I really wanted to like this place. It was my first time trying it and I’m disappointed.

I walked in and it was a pretty slow night. I sat down at the bar and there was only 3 customers sitting at the bar. It’s a big bar.

I sat for 5-10 minutes and out of the THREE workers behind the bar no one greeted or acknowledged me!!!

He finally asked if I was to go or dine in. I told him I wanted to-go because based on that interaction I felt like they didn’t even want me there.

While I waited no one even bothered to ask if I would like a drink or anything. I asked for a drink menu and ordered a drink. He didn’t seem to want to make it. His coworker pointed out that I was sitting at the bar for a while. It was an hour before the place closed but it wasn’t like I walked in last minute so idk. Maybe they were having a bad day.

I waited for 35 minutes for my order to come out. I figured the food would make up for the terrible service.

Sigh, it was just as terrible. I actually would like a refund if I could. Lol

This economy is too bad to be wasting money on bad food.

It was stale. I thought it would at least be piping hot and fresh. It tasted like it was sitting out for a while and the batter was nasty/ no flavor. Also tasted like the oil that they used to fry it was old.

I love oysters but this was the first time I ate oysters and hated it.

I ordered fried oysters and calamari. As a seafood place I assumed it would quench my taste buds. Not lmao.

Anyway, idk if I’ll be back we’ll see how they handle this situation because I will be calling in and making a formal complaint as well since they don’t respond to their...

Since they just opened, we wanted to see what their general service and food quality was like before committing to the more expensive boiled seafood specialties. We ordered the fried shrimp basket. One with fries, one with onion rings. Impressed to say the least. Shrimp were extremely fresh and tasty (and relatively inexpensive). Fries were great (portion size was very small though). Onion rings were not very flavorful. Not bad but nothing special. Hush puppies are awesome, served with a delicious honey mustard sauce. Cocktail sauce tastes homemade, thick and full of horseradish. We will definitely come back and indulge in the more expensive...

So me and my family went today, it was great customer service. I didn't catch our waiters' name, but she was amazing. We naturally did not want to go at first, due to the reviews. It's been said that there is terrible customer service, long wait times (we waited for maybe like 15-20ish minutes, due to how much we ordered) and that the shrimp had no seasoning. Like what??? I got the "Pick any 2 items" (1lb each item) for like 20 smth dollars. I chose shrimp(head on) and clams. Then I chose my flavor and my spicy level. And it was AMAZING.
