BAD SERVICE! 1-Star RATING A quick check of my profile will demonstrate that I am very generous and do not give poor reviews. It is warranted in this case ...
I was given a voucher for a free daiquiri when this place was still new to our neighborhood. The owner was welcoming and stated that we could use the voucher at ANY time.
I visited a couple of weeks ago (early August 2025) in an attempt to use the voucher but the cashier refused to honor it and claimed that she could not verify it with the owner due to him being on a flight. We even verified that my phone number is in the rewards system because I have spent money here before. (The voucher was at home and I was already in the area running errands on that extra hot day months ago) So we've established previous patronage and therefore not likely to be a scam attempt. Regardless, that onus of responsibility does NOT fall on the customer. I left with a feeling of mistrust and debated whether it was worth ever returning.
Today (8/22/25), I returned to redeem my voucher and asked the same cashier if she had gotten a chance to discuss the free voucher with the owner. She said that the owner would not honor the voucher but would provide a discount on a purchase. His reasoning for doing so is that the voucher is very old, and their new cashier/computer system does not have an option for accepting the voucher.
I explained that there is no expiration date on the card, the owner was clear about my wife and I being welcome to come in and redeem it at any time, and that failing to honor your word or set clear expectations is not something that customers/community will condone. I informed her that my review of the establishment will be very thorough and I was transparent about my opinion of their customer service.
Furthermore, any update to your cashier software should have included methods to accept coupons that YOU distributed.
The cashier's response is that it's my fault that I waited so long to use the voucher and nothing can be done to capture the transaction.
I've included a picture of the voucher for reference. Note the lack of issue or expiration date. (I even used the back of the card to jot down a phone number because it was empty space)
I RARELY rate businesses as poorly as this because in most instances a respectful conversation mitigates any misunderstandings or bad experiences. But I strongly recommend taking your business to a daiquiri provider that honors it's invitations and values their customers.
I can recommend honorable businesses that provide daiquiris with ACTUAL SPIRITS (LIQUOR) instead of wine based slushies topped with lies and wolf tickets such...
Read moreThe Hurricane is On Point, that's the only 1 I come here for. Its not too sweet, and it's the pineapple flavor in it, and the level of KICK it has that does it for Me...OK! The BEST in Houston, according to my taste buds. HOWEVER....the service from the "curly hair" one is far from DEMURE. She is rude, and very condescending. I have had two unpleasant experiences with this employee. I let the 1st one slide. I love to support Black Owned Businesses so, I didn't say anything publicly. This last one on Loyalty Members, BOGO Tuesday took the cake. After the initial pleasant greeting the employee gave, and I in turn replied with the same energy. I proceeded to place my order including the BOGO, size, and flavor, or attempted to before the employee cut me off. She stated " put your phone number in..." I clucthed my pearls (figure if speech), like ok. She's verifing my loyalty status, and then proceeded to ask me what was my order???? That too took me there. Had the young lady allowed me to finish, and then did the verification....you know the rest! When I brought this to her attention, she got louder! Good drinks, but Bad Customer Service from the "curly...
Read moreFirst impression is everything. I’m giving this place 2 stars because it was clean. However, the service was trash. I walk into the door the young lady with the curly hair fairly light skin was making someone else drink. She hands the lady her drinks then gets on her phone as if she didn’t see me standing there. So I proceed to say excuse me it’s my first time here what’s your strongest drink. She says the sunset. I then say is it wine base or rum base she said it’s neither we do it the legal Texas way. Which confused me a little bit because every other daiquiri shop is able to answer this question for me… so I say can I taste it. She give me a very small sample to taste which is fine but I didn’t like it so I ask can I taste something different she says No because I won’t be able to taste the difference in the flavor because I just had a sample of sunset. Again im confused because is it color dye or something I should certainly be able to taste the difference. I left out and will not be back. Before anybody pay $11 for a small the person should know the product...
