CAVA — Restaurant in Chantilly

Food is good, newish clean friendly environment. I've subtracted a star for inconsistent employees behind the counter. Not offering me pita bread and having to wait at the end of the line like every time, rushed a bit through the process, always in such a rush when I have a question because I'm mindful about my food, I understand there is a line and I do not waste time on my order, although time to time I have a question on what is what. The new honey harissa chicken is great, the craft sodas are usually stocked and taste great. Tables clean and floors appear clean.

Update ** nov. 19th 2020 Every single time I order I request a bag, its a repeat order I do not change anything, very simple order as well. so I don't loose sauce and stuff inside my car, I care about my car and do not want to make a mess, I repurpose these to go bags for recycling as well. I keep requesting a bag for my to go order and over 20 times (yea literally) now the request has not been fulfilled. I'm sick and tired of waiting for a bag every time I go to this location, I want a hassle free pick up experience with my order complete, an accident is one thing but this is an ongoing annoyance. Can you please either not give bags out to anyone or just do the job and give me my bag as requested online just like you do for uber eats and those that request them in the store. I've told every employee there to do this. Highly unfornuate I have to feel this way over a simple bag, but I hope that it becomes resolved. People make requests at my job all the time and I fulfill them I expect the same to just simply place my food in a container so I can transport it safely.

If this establishment can provide my online order as advertised consistently I will consider changing my review...

Cava is my favorite fast casual spot in NoVa right now. Great place for a quick bowl of fresh crispy greens and several choices of meat or veggie protein. Portions are huge and so is the price. Recent lunch trip was $16+ with double meat and fountain drink so sadly this is not in my budget to eat every day. If you want more than one scoop of toppings (veggies) you will need to specify. The regular bowls are so huge that you will definitely be stuffed when you finish. I wish there was a “2/3” bowl at a little lower price point (is that a thing?). My foundation of choice is spinach with brown rice- this combo tastes great and gets you started with some great nutritious veggies. My only suggestion for the spinach bowls is it would be awesome if they were able to chop the spinach a few times before they put it in. I understand the bowl might appear a bit less bulky but it would be so much easier to mix/eat than fighting full pieces of spinach out from under everything else. Tzatziki, hummus and harissa dips give my bowl a delicious balance of savory creaminess and a quick punch of flavorful heat. The chicken is my go to but the spicy lamb meatballs are a great way to mix it up as well. Tomatoes and cucumbers bring a colorful splash of bright acidic flavor to my bowl and a couple scoops of quinoa give me a boost of fiber. One final stop for a few pinches of sweet-hot banana peppers and in to the dressing. My favorite approach is to combine the creamy yogurt-dill with the spicy green harissa, complementing the dips from earlier. Don't order takeout/delivery here. I am a CAVA enjoyer, I get it often via Doordash. But unfortunately, this location is the closest to me. 9 times out of 10, my order would have something either missing or wrong.

It has gotten to a point where I just don't even expect them to have my order correct. It's a surprise when my order actually does come correct.

This is never the fault of the Doordash deliverer, I've never had a bag delivered that wasn't placed under my order. Never the fault of Doordash either, because the receipt I get in bag after delivery never fails to reflect what I order.

I recently had an order that was missing side dressings for all entrees, another order missing side pitas for only some of the entrees, the order after that had a completely different entree along with some other things that were ordered. My most recent order, I ordered literally two of the exact same entree, somehow got two different things, one being correct and the other just completely random. The completely random one had the receipt placed onto it too, showing one entree with a 2x count... Mind boggling how one messes up this bad. The entrees were not even remotely the same either... This was my experience for my last four orders, with faults that happened many many times prior.

It's like the people that make the food on the delivery line just look at the first few portions of the receipt and guess the rest. As I have worked in a very similar establishment, I understand if errors like this happen once in a while, but for it to happen so consistently is wild.

Other than that, food is good. But it'd be nice to actually get what...
