My experience with Thai Thyme stems from an Uber Eats delivery perspective.
I live across the street from this restaurant and usually pick up orders, as they come from one of the many restaurant in the shopping center.
On this particular instances, I received a pretty solid delivery from Thai Thyme and I accepted it. Upon getting to the store and going in, I saw no one there except one patron. I wait a few minutes, but saw that the order I was there for was sitting at the bar. After confirming the order, and walking out with it, I later saw the restaurant had left me a negative rating.
When I called the store to ask why they did that, they said I did not wait for someone. Now, as a Uber Eats driver I get paid by completion of delivery and each minute that I wait counts negatively against me. Also, you as a restaurant should know that Uber Eats customers are your customers that have paid you for a service to get their food delivered as quickly and efficiently as possible. I mentioned I came in and waited a few minutes and when it became evident that they were busy, I ensured to grab the correct order and head out to deliver it... which was done successfully. I explained that if they had any questions, they could've called me and we could've talked before they decided to rate me negatively.
As I explained this to the store, a lady, likely the owner, apologized and said she would contact Uber Eats to have my negative rating changed. However, Uber Eats never changed my rating. Thus, I must vent and share my experience as well.
This is not a petty post, this is because we as drivers do not have the same privilege as customers and restaurant to rate them, so I must take my...
Read moreLoved their Ambience . But Customer Service, down south and much below par . People who helped us on the menu and food service were pretty worse , rude and what not.
First when i entered the restaurant the first thing i called out is Vegeterian and hence we dont want any of our food containing Egg/Meat/Fish Sauce on it . She warmly acknowledged it and gave us the water and picked the starters order.
Starters came and Tom yum Soup was tasting good but , pretty cold and not hot . We ignored and had our Spring rolls , Steamed Veggies and Veg Dumplings. I liked the dumplings and its rare to get anywhere vegetable dumplings. And then i ordered our Main course ( where the issue started)
We ordered Green Curry with Rice and Panang noodles for our main course. Also we asked for a Fried rice Veg and mentioned on side. When i saw panang Noodles it had Egg in it . When asked about egg in it, they replaced with another one but found that there is some uncooked spices smell and it tasted bad. When i mentioned it they said ok and removed it. Clearly they didnt like it when i commented on the food . Also instead of a side Fried rice order they gave main rice .
When asked for the check they gave the full bill for everything and claimed that i ate half of the noodles and hence they wont do anything which wasn't true. She also blamed me on the orders that i gave wrongly and im manipulating . Asked if i can talk to manager she said " its me" talk to me first. They also blamed me that i'm lying.
Clearly that was one of the devastating birthday dinner i have ever went. We constant eat and try many Thai restaurants on our area and these guys are the worst on the behaviour and...
Read moreUPDATE: I went again a year later from my initial review and I am deeply disappointed. The pineapple fried rice was not good. It was more like steamed rice with sauce. I'm almost 100% certain that canned pineapple was used. It was pale, mushy, and watery, and did not taste anything like pineapple. I'm also very upset that the shrimp in my dish were not properly cleaned. I'm personally not a fan of eating digestive tracts. Absolutely NOT worth the price. **This is a review in regards to ordering through their website for take-out. Their website was easy to navigate and place an order. The one thing I did not like was that after you place the order it will say something like 'pick in x minutes'. I'm watching the page waiting for the time to go down, or show an estimated time that my order would be ready. I realized after about 10 minutes that the website does not show real time updates. Just something to keep in mind since most websites allow you to view real time the status of your order. I ordered the veggie green curry which I was initially turned off by when I saw it because it was very pale compared to other green curries I've had. It was good despite the odd color, but not the best I've ever had. It wasn't nearly spicy enough for me, so I know for my next visit I'll have to ask for extra spice. I also got the veggie dumplings. I appreciate that these dumplings are handmade as opposed to restaurants that use frozen processed dumplings. I was only in the restaurant briefly to pick up my food but the interior was attractive. In the future I will probably dine in person since the bar seems to have a nice collection, but I am unlikely to order...
