I have been to this place several times in the past. Our waitress was so sweet. I did not catch her name but she was super sweet about the whole thing and apologizing. We started off by sharing salsa, chips, guacamole, and queso. Everything was good than came drinks we are three girls in our young 20s so maybe that’s why this manager assumed but me and my one other friend sent our drinks back because hers was sour and made wrong and I genuinely just didn’t like mine. Then the manager came over and started going on and on about how he can remake my friends because it was actually made wrong and just because I didn’t like mine he couldn’t get me a new one or take it off the check. Which is fine if that’s the policy but the problem came when he kept going on and on and was at the table standing over us for a good 5 mins accusing me that I was there to buy drink after drink and just taste drinks. I told him over and over again that, that was not the intention and I must have said that to give 10 times. Absolutely ruined the experience I told our waitress I was extremely uncomfortable and just wanted the check and leave. As we were paying he stood there watching our table the whole time. Which made it even worse. This man was incredibly rude and I would never go back just because of him. I have never said this but he needs...
Read moreWow! I don't even know how this place gets such high reviews! Moving back here after living in Phoenix for a while, I had/have hopes to find decent Mexican cuisine. This is not the place! I thought we ordered pretty standard items for trying a new place (street taco, gringo taco, chimi and queso fundido with chorizo)... The chimi was NOT good! I understand that they added cinnamon to the shredded beef make it "more authentic", but it was WAY too much! Couldn't taste anything else, except the "ranchero sauce" that tasted like plain tomato sauce out of the can. Burnt ends, which I usually like, but soggy everywhere else. (Tortillas were mush except on the burnt ends.) Salsa is passable, but extremely bland. Guacamole was quite good! The tortilla chips are actually quite good! The refried beans are decent. After draining off grease/stirring the queso fundido w/chorizo, it was pretty tasty, but by far not the best in town! The tortillas are NOT good (both the corn and flour), which made the tacos weird! BUT the al pastor pork for the street taco was good. As expected for Mexican cuisine, it was prepared quickly, so that didn't disappoint. The 2 stars are for the timeliness, chips, guac and al pastor. Everything else...
Read moreWe would've LOVED to experience the meal here, as we are locals and used to the surrounding area's Agave locations, plus it was right across the street from the childrens museum which we went to today for mothers day with my 2 year old. We were seated immediately in a 10% full restaurant, with the majority sitting outside. We asked to be seated outside, and she took us right there. She, my husband ND I all took a gander at the situation she left us at together, including the puddles in the middle the chair seats...and then she asked, you need a high chair? (again). I said yea please! Expecting her to show back up within 1 min with a rag for the chairs plus a high chair. There was no one that came in for service the entire time. I watched her go back to the host stand and start rearranging and organizing menus. My husband and I have both been in F&B our 45 years of life. After standing there foe 2 mins waiting for her to bring high chair; then realizing how long we'd probably been waiting, then looking behind my shoulder to find the girl back at the host stand rummaging with menus? No thanks. We went immediately and happily back to Los Reyes in West Ashley, where we we CERTAIN our money...
