I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Francis Marion Hotel, having a service at "The Spa of Charleston", and ending the day seeing The Indigo Girls at Charleston Music Hall. I had an amazing experience from start to finish.
The Francis Marion Hotel is a beautiful historic hotel located in the heart of Charleston. The rooms are historic and luxurious, and the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. I had a wonderful massage at "The Spa of Charleston", and I felt completely relaxed and rejuvenated afterwards.
Charleston Music Hall is a stunning venue with amazing acoustics. The Indigo Girls put on an incredible show, and I was blown away by their talent. The crowd was so energetic and enthusiastic, and it was an unforgettable night.
I would highly recommend Charleston Music Hall to anyone looking for a great live music venue. The acoustics are amazing, the staff is friendly, and the shows are always top-notch. I would give Charleston Music Hall a 5-star rating.

I’ve been attending shows at this historic venue for years and have always appreciated its rich character and excellent acoustics. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives now end. The experience has drastically declined due to the overly aggressive staff and a growing list of unnecessary restrictions that completely kill the vibe of live music.
At a recent show, fans were repeatedly told to sit down—during the performance. This was a high-energy rock concert, and yet we were being policed like we were in a library. Fans weren’t being disruptive—we were simply standing up to enjoy the music, as the band themselves encouraged. But the staff was relentless, even confrontational. It’s clear the venue has shifted its priorities to appease a more geriatric crowd, at the expense of the actual concert-going experience.
If this is the direction they’re heading, bands and fans alike will begin to take their business elsewhere. Venues like The Refinery actually allow people to enjoy the music without harassment. We won’t be returning here, and it’s incredibly disappointing after so many years of support.
At the very least, this venue should clearly inform ticket holders ahead of time that standing is not allowed—especially for events that are traditionally energetic. That way, people can make an informed decision before wasting money on an experience that feels more like being babysat than attending a concert.
A beautiful venue with great sound means nothing if fans are treated like they don’t...
Read moreI'm so shaken, utterly disgusted and so humiliated of how discriminated I was when I attended the Christmas jazz play on December 7th. As I sat in my seats with my 2 children and husband. All around people complained that they were there. The girls first Christmas music festival. For one they were not screaming and they were not running around. Like some of the adults I seen there that night. All the comments made me feel so low and the fact that we are darker in color then all that surrounded us. With the comments to come along with that are disgusting. I just couldn't believe how some people in that setting doesn't realize that they are not the only ones who love that genre of music. It was so bad that I needed to get up and leave the show disappointing my kids not being able to witness the experience of the journey that...
