Excellent food with some of the “rarest” Chinese dishes you can find in the US, all reasonably priced with superb services.

Dragon Palace is a rare and delightful combination of food, service, price and dinning experience.

If you just want a down and dirty, stuff your face, Thursday night diner, this will do, but it maybe JUST a bit more than you would expect from a “typical” strip mall Chinese place. But this is an EXCELLENT, dine in or take out spot, should definitely be concerned as the pearl of Charleston.

The food is wonderfully made, not too heavy, not greasy, and all are appropriately portioned. They are flavorful where it should be, and subtle where it should be. Their wide selection of the menu is an unusual but very welcome sight.

Ho Fun is a stable of traditional Chinese cooking and it is very common in China. The ingredients are actually quite simple but for reason unknown they are quite hard to come by in the US, except maybe if you go to the Chinatown in NYC or SF (you get my point). And to find that in Charleston, SC was more than a pleasure surprise! Not to mention their Ho Fun was masterfully made and it really reminded me of the ones I had in Hong Kong as a young boy.

Another great find was a Dim Sum platter! I know right!!! Now you can have a little bit of ALL the Dim Sums without having to bring home extras! Dim Sums are generally served in a set of 3,4,5. First world problem it might be, but it always annoying to want to get Dim Sums by yourself but can only get 1 or 2 type because you don’t want to deal with the left over, not a problem here. And once again Dragon Palace hit these Dim Sums right out of the park! Really there should be more places with Dim Sums platter.

Last but not least, the service was prompt, polite, and easy. The decor is out of this part of the country, it really remind me of some of the really old, historical Chinese restaurant. You can tell there was love made into this place.

Final word, it is at least worth 1 visit, but if you are close by, this should be at least a monthly stop, cause these kind of love for a Chinese restaurant is getting harder and harder to...

Early voted in Daniel Island so checked out Dragon Palace for Lunch based on a recommendation from a friend.

Overall it was good but nothing to knock your socks off. I wouldn’t drive from Goose Creek to DI for it.

The Sweet and Sour Chicken was good. Nice larger pieces of Chicken and the batter was on point, crunchy light and fluffy.

The Eye Kew was also good. Had good flavor but the highlight was the Beef as it was so tender.

Dim Sum platter was great. You could tell these were hand made. Five different pieces, the Shu Mai and the Pork were the best. Very light, but flavorful Dumpling Sauce.

The Fried Rice was lacking, just Rice and Soy Sauce. Nothing else to provide flavor. No vegetables, no seasoning.

The Egg Roll was also lacking. Essentially a Fried Cabbage Roll as there was a tiny amount of pork in it. To the point I had to thoroughly search for those red Pork pieces after each bite. The Duck Sauce that was served with it was great though.

These were Lunch Specials but added the Dim Sum and the Egg Roll. Portions were solid for the price of $12.99 per special. Dim Sum was $8.99 and the Egg Roll was $2.75.

It was nice to see a sit down Chinese Restaurant rather than the typical Take Out Style places, especially with some of the originals in the area closing.

As I said before, the meal was good but nothing to go crazy about. Highlights were the Dim Sum and the Beef in the Rib Kew. Everything else was average at best.

I will give them credit for a wide range of items on the menu that you wouldn’t get at a typical Chinese Take Out...

Everything was absolutely mouth watering!! My date and I ordered the dim sum platter, pork steamed buns, marinated cucumbers, red curry chicken, and sesame chicken. The dim sum was packed with so much flavor. Each type all tasted absolutely amazing. The pork buns were good but the only thing I’d say is that they could’ve used a little bit more of something. That being said, the juices from the marinated cucumbers tasted very yummy on the pork buns. The cucumber were extremely crunch, fresh and savory !! I could’ve most definitely eaten another plate of them. My chicken curry was not only delicious but it was very pretty too ! it’s packed with peppers, onions, some potatoes and tender slices of chicken that made my mouth water before I even ate it. It was paired with a bowl of fluffy, non mushy white rice which I absolutely loved. Truly the way rice should be. My date’s sesame chicken was pretty yummy as well! It had some pineapple pieces mixed in with some broccoli! We also painted our entrees with an pot of jasmine tea and it was very floral, clear, and simply refreshing! A very small thing is that their sodas are canned and their sweet tea is just iced tea :) but this was by far the best Chinese restaurant I’ve...
