We went in last night. I slept on it before sharing, but it was a pretty overwhelmingly negative eating experience. We were a party of two. 5minute wait to get sat- no biggie. Until you realize the wait is because the staff isn’t cleaning off tables until someone walks in the door and needs one. We spent the entirety of our time here surrounded by dirty tables covered in half-empty glasses and meal remnants. Food was fine, but mostly because we were both too hungry by the time it came out to want to wait for it to be fixed. My husband’s medium-rare filet came out medium-well and mine was medium at one end and medium-rare at the other like it was cooked unevenly. The broccoli had a strange sour taste to it and the plates were splattered with grease around the edges making them messy to touch. I would have said service was fine. We sat awhile before anyone came by, long enough that when our drink order was taken we went ahead and put in food as well. But at the end of the meal she came by to ask about desserts. When we declined, she scoffed and instead of taking our payment, went and chatted with another table for 15+ minutes. Nothing like being held hostage after a mediocre meal. My husband suggested I take our baby to the car while he waited for the check so a neighboring table’s screaming kid didn’t wake her. Good plan. The three employees by the hostess stand wished me a good night as I was making my way out- nice right? Except every unoccupied table in the restaurant is filthy and they’re watching me struggle to maneuver a stroller through two sets of double doors without a move to assist.
I hope management reads this. These issues are all directly due to management not training and holding staff accountable. Why was the manager not helping clear tables? Keeping servers on task instead of hanging at the hostess stand? Checking food before it left the kitchen? Swinging by to make sure guests are doing well? Etc. There’s way too many great restaurants in Charleston- at the same price point, with better food, service, and cleanliness- for us to...

ALthough I am a Fan of the OUTBACK Brand .. this weekend in Charleston was the worst ever. Greeters at the door where GREAT! HANNAH ,THE server did her best with what she had to work with. The manager on duty ,who never told her name even after u asked , definitely made the wrong career choice. No matter what OUTBACK I visit I generally order the same , this time I didn't order the blooming onion . For her , we asked for a half rack baked potato ans salad, For me, Bloomin Chicken ,Sweet potatoe ans salad. With 2 waters. So I know how long it takes . Restaurant was lest that 1/3 capacity. It was about 6pm. I motice people coming in ans I noticed people leaving. Salads cam out after about 5 minutes. 3 tables around us where seated..2 tables that can 5-10 minutes after us receive there food. Hannah comes and apologize for the delay ans says she sees out food on the screen so it shouldn't be too much longer . 10 minutes later she comes to check on her and see we don't have food . Another server passes and I ask for a manager . At thus point I see Hannah ans the manager looking at me from a distance so I know they are aware I don't have food 45 minutes into my visit. A few minutes layer the manager comes ans just stares at me almost like she is waiting for me to apologize for interrupting her TV program. ALL SHE says is that the kitchen is backed up. Mind you ive been there 45 minutes ans when I arrived the place wasn't busy. I tell her I can't stay any longer and will pay for the sald but I'm leaving. She literally ROLLS HER eyes and walks away. No apologies. Hannah brings me a bill for $13.30. I'm on the business and i know $13 is not worth this review nor loosing customes. People skills are needed within the mgr staff along with knowing when to make things right for your guest . And nothing about this...
Read moreMy wife and I stopped in last night, March 23rd, admittingly a little later (830 pm) but we knew what we wanted to order immediately. The bartender threw menus at us and aggressively just said "what do you want". I ordered the blooming onion immediately and was going to give her our shared entree but she just yelled "I'll put that in now" and hurried away. The blooming onion came out and was missing pieces from it already.
This whole time, this female bartender, was talking loudly about getting off soon and was banging and slamming dishes--she even slammed a glass out of her dishwasher onto another in the bar well and it smashed (i worked in f&b for a long time). She just collected the big chunks that broke but never checked her ice well for glass and left the mess for someone else. If i didnt find this more amusing for how badly this girl did not want to be there, then she would have pretty much ruined the night. She def ruined it for my wife.
When our steak and chicken came out, the chicken was the size of a nugget, no mushrooms or other vegetables as promised. The manager came over to my wife as the bartender lingered and his response to all of this was frankly, Mistakes happen--but offered no solution or assistance. Thank you, Andrew, and to the bartender with hearing aids who definitely shouldn't be in a service industry. You don't even have to explain the dishes...
To top it off, I went to the restroom, my wife got in the car and the bartender was making fun of my wife and I when I came out. Really cool time, guys!
I'll end this by adding we get take out or have a quick meal at the bar probably once a month to get out of the house and this is the first time we had any issues, though, now we probably are not...
