This place could be smelled up the street. Having planned in dining somewhere else we followed our noses from the South Carolina Aquarium until we stumbled upon Ted's Butcherblock. Entering through the back door we were greeted by a case full of fresh meats and sausages. We walked to the front of the restaurant and ordered a BBQ pulled pork panini along with a side of Aged Gouda Mac and Cheese and some fruit. The gentleman behind the counter was very polite and professional. We grabbed a couple glasses of water and sat down along the sidewall. The sandwich was delivered very quickly. We found the fresh crispy sandwich cut diagonally to be perfect for my wife and I to split for a light lunch along with our sides. I was a little unsure of the Mac and cheese at first since it is chilled instead of hot but the flavor is on point and I did end up really enjoying it. Sitting here writing this we will definitely return here and again and in the meantime I'm going to go see if I can snag some of that wonderful Carolina bbq rub!
P.S. they do sell the rub! Definitely taking some back to...
Read moreFor this experience I just bought a half pound ribeye and a twice baked potato. But I originally found out about this place looking for a gourmet butcher that served high quality meats. Then I saw that they’ll actually cook your steak for you. My boyfriend and I went a few weeks ago and got 2 1lb strips, cooked perfectly to order, seasoned deliciously. I haven’t had any of their sandwiches yet, but I did have a potato salad that was delicious. They have a great selection of nice wines, meats, cheeses, frozen pastas, and premade sides. If you want to host a dinner night you have everything you need in one stop. And if you just want a steak and want someone to cook it for you, they’ll do it. Call ahead bc I think it’s only from 5-7 and they need to preheat the grill. Love this spot. And their seasoning blend...
Read moreTried this as my lunch yesterday and was pretty pleased. Ordering online was easy, it was ready when I arrived, and someone was kind enough to walk it to my car because the parking lot was full. I was a bit disappointed in the wagyu panini. It tasted like the meat had bbq sauce on it and I would’ve preferred to taste the meat more than a sauce. The garlic aioli I subbed out was very good and everything was cooked well. I also was a smidge disappointed by the size of the side of Mac and cheese- 4oz seemed pretty tiny. However, it did taste wonderful even cold (my fault because it did have “hot Mac” as an option but I thought that meant spicy rather than temperature). Overall it was good. I’d probably try a different sandwich next time. Also big shoutout on the prices- quality food at $13 is unheard...
