My fiancĆ© (at the time) designed a ring with this jewelry company over a year and a half ago. Once it was done he started making payments on it until it was completely paid off, and then the ring would officially be ours. We were in our last leg of payments and we decided that we could go ahead and pay the rest of the ring off and I could finally have my dream engagement ring (yay!). So we call the store (we had moved out of state since the original interaction), and the store and owner give my now husband the run around about the ring. He finally talks to the owner himself, and come to find out the owner had sold the center diamond in our ring to someone else without us knowing with NO replacement! We had already put thousands of dollars down and they did not call us first to give us any option or tell us what they were doing! It has been 2 months since this incident that we were āpromisedā a new and bigger diamond with no extra charge. There has been no proof of this new ring or diamond, and there is no way to visit the store since we are out of state. My husband has called and called and we have gotten nothing but excuses. Iām not trying to bash this store, but I do want to be honest with mine and my...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI felt the need to come back to explain my one star after reading all the wonderful comments to share my experience. My (then at the time finance) brought my ring set there to be sized (upped) back in February 17th in lieu for our wedding March 12th. When he dropped the rings off they quoted him a price of $212 for both rings. Well not only did the we not get the rings back until March 11th (one day before the wedding) but it was more than double the price we was quoted. And when we inquired about a breakdown of the cost they couldn't give it to us, but had the nerve to say they under charged us. Then the lady said they don't give quotes and whoever told him that lied. I find it very hard to believe people just drop jewelry off to be resized without knowing the cost. I also find it hard to believe that a jeweler cannot tell you the breakdown of cost they charge. Maybe this place has been pleasant for some, but it wasn't for us. Definitely won't...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI initially took them a metal watch band because a pin had fallen out. They gave me an estimated price to repair, including ordering or fabricating a replacement pin. Afterwards I found the lost pin and took it to them. They replaced the pin and had the watch back to me the same day. They could have charged me for their troubles--and I expected them to--but they didn't. I spoke with a different lady each time in went in, and all three were exceptionally pleasant, friendly, and helpful.
Later, I went back to Sohn & McClure for another service that was costly enough to justify shopping around. I worked with a store in Mt. Pleasant that ultimately quoted me double what Sohn & McClure quoted. Sohn & McClure's operation is fair, honest, and helpful. The store has earned my business...
