I was on a girls trip with my elementary/high school friends and we stayed at The Mills House. It was absolutely beautiful! The atmosphere, amenities, pool and staff were all A+. I went to The Black Door cafe every day to get my coffee and the staff was amazing. They went above and beyond to make me feel special - especially Akaria, Fufu and Nef. They were all so sweet, kind, courteous and provided fast, friendly service with a happy, positive vibe. I follow a low carb diet and was so happy that they had sugar free vanilla syrup and heavy whipping cream. About their drinks it was ok but definitely not an absolute stop to make in Charleston. As a matcha aficionado they definitely didn’t know how to make the way it should. We don’t pour powder with lots of milk instead it should be a tsp of matcha powder with a little hot water. Mixing then add the milk. I had two matcha and both happened to be prepared not in the right way. The tea brand they served was good because it is loose leaf. Price was reasonable. They just need to know how to brew tea and they will be a cafe who knows how to serve a high quality...
