My partner and I met Frank by chance while on a weekend trip to Charleston. He went out of his way to help us with a parking situation, and saved us a great headache as we were hurrying to get to a scheduled tour on time. He was so kind, and things fell so perfectly afterward that we both felt almost drawn in someway to visit Principle Gallery. It's a beautiful space-- warm and inviting in true Charleston style-- and with a clearly carefully curated selection of unique pieces. As someone with an eye for art that speaks to me, but admittedly, a lacking knowledge of popular artists or choices of medium, my appreciation for a piece comes solely from its ability to touch a nerve and make me feel something-- which doesn't happen all the time. I was impressed to find that I had that reaction multiple times as we walked through the gallery, which suggests that Principle's selection is both diverse and discerning. Frank was a charming host, inviting and knowledgable. He met me on my level of understanding to explain about featured artists and their mediums of choice. He entertained us with effortless conversation and made us feel so welcome that we were sorry to leave.
