Literally the worst wendys in charleston. I visit this location numerous times a week, just because it's conveniently located 2 blocks away from my apartment. Almost every time I go, fries are cold, and items are missing from my order. If items aren't missing, they completely butcher the build of your burger. Want to add a tomato slice to a baconator? Forget it. I've been trying to have a baconator with tomato for the past 3 weeks. Went through tonight, not a single car in the drive thru and guess what? Food was subpar and I still didn't get my tomato. Just do yourself a favor and drive an extra couple of miles to southridge.
Had my worst experience at this wendys yet. Sat in the drive thru for about 15 minutes, typical for dinner rush so no problem. I get to the speaker and am immediately placed on another 5-10 minute wait, just to be told that they cannot accept debit/credit. The lady said I could come in and order, so I happily obliged. When I got into the lobby, It was practically empty other than a family who had already ordered, and an older couple behind me. The kid working behind the register shouldn't be allowed to work with the public. Muttering curse words and profanities about customers within eyesight and earshot. There was about 7-8 people MINIMUM working in this wendys tonight. Not a single one of them, crew or manager, ever came to take my order. The older couple behind me walked out about 10 minutes before I did after having to stand and just count the workers walking by without being helped. Chubby blonde kid was talking about how he hoped he could leave soon, and he couldn't wait for his new job interview. All the while standing and doing nothing but fiddling with straws. I love wendys, and I love the location of this one in particular, but the amount of times I have an issue eith thus store are becoming countless. Needless to say, I left wendys after about 45 min empty handed with no food. Never even got to place my order. 0/10 literally eat anywhere else, or find a...
Read moreMobile orders aren't good here as others say so be mindful of that. Service is hit or miss and where my son loves the nuggets exclusively , the bad service can be frustrating for me. I have had great people in the drive thru more often than not honestly and then there is one female who is a bit abrasive and a wow in bad service for spite when she works the windows. She gave us the wrong sauce for nuggets for a kid on purpose. My neurodivergent son only eats BBQ sauce from there specificly with the nuggets.
She handed us hot honey on purpose while he was saying please i cant eat the nuggets without it I tried to hand it back to her thinking it was a simple mistake but then she refused to take it back letting it drop to the ground and said they were out of BBQ sauce too bad and now I'm littering. Kinda stunned me and I did remark back not too nicely myself at that point as he would have had a meltdown if he accidently tasted that spicy sauce.
Why not just tell us that you were out ? I ask when ordering every time. She saw him and she seemed a bit drama driven herself making remarks to customers on her headset while we waited before giving us hot honey sauce. She never once said they were out until this point. Fast food can be a maddening experience.
Hope she will go and find a better suited job as she hated that one and people as well. She seemed closer to middle aged brownish, dirty blonde duller hair and a bit plus sized. She def didn't like kids or me after I mouthed off when she did this. Not my finest moment but most of the time this isn't the issue. It's simply they are over worked and under paid trying their best. Now this one example is the exception...

Rude, inept employees. 35 yrs ago as a teen I worked at McDonald's, we had less people, less fancy equipment, and more customers - we were proud to rarely have a food or staff problem. Today staff could care less about what they are doing or how they treat people. Every order is incorrect, incomplete, or prepared badly - I want my money back for the mess today.
Past visit: Amazing how "covid" is an excuse for rudeness and laziness. The girl at the window barely spoke, mostly stared at me while I sat there waiting for her to give me the cost and reach her hand out to get the card I was offering. Zero effort to be nice or even to reach for payment. I tried using the app but again it would not process the order. Used the scan for the discount/offer and again it did not work. App sucks and people have become excessively lazy and rude. Generally I am a very laid back and polite person but I am just sick of people acting like I am invisible while doing business with them and their employer. Even the management is rude. I know people who are trying to get jobs but these places would rather be short staffed and whine about it than hire decent people...
