Cru Charlotte — Restaurant in Charlotte

Before I go bashing anyone or a business I don’t respect the time they took to maintain and bring a quality product. My experience may not be that of everyone but I would like to put my input in for fixes to make this establishment a better one.

Upon arriving there was a good feel to the place and the atmosphere. Security was upfront and provided correct instruction the big guy was cool and provided a professional service.

We enter the club and our party was walked to our section at 10:23 pm cause a few of our members were a little late. Upon sitting the host let us know they stopped serving alcohol at 11 which was fine and she stated they were short staffed and our waitress would be right there to take our orders. We waited until about 10:37 before we took it upon ourselves to go to the bar to get drinks as our short window to drink was approaching. The host came and had to take our order cause no waitress would come to our section. We ordered and wanted two hookahs at a hookah lounge and they stated they don’t have anymore hookahs at the time big issue. Got our drink order and we wanted to get food so we asked could we order and were told to wait for our waitress who at 11:15 still hadn’t come to the section. We asked a young waitress walking by and she said she would be back cause she had to get the host to sign in to the pda needless to say she never came back.

We watched a few waitresses in another vip section dancing and doing hookah as well the waitresses behind the bar were also doing hookah which was odd as paying customers were waiting to pay for the service. We waited until about 11:30 and stopped the young lady who said she was going to take our order and she gave us an attitude. At this point we asked for the check and she came over very sarcastically and was like would you like me to help cash you out we replied no thank you and waited on the hostess who was polite and a bit overwhelmed due to the short staffing. I paid for my drinks via Apple Pay to a friend that was there and we left for the night.

I liked the vibe on the inside the DJ was great but I think management needs to tighten up and things should be handled better for this establishment to prosper. Please take this feedback and fix the issues as you all are going to miss out on a lot of money in the future. Worst place I ever been. If I could they would get no stars. First, went on February 22 for a r&b event they were unorganized and scamming they said they had a dress code policy when I got there I wore long jeans and clogs, you couldn’t see my shoes at all security told me I couldn’t get into the event cus I have clogs, but then turned around and he literally charged me $20 just for wearing clogs when multiple females had on scandals in the lounge. They said they had a strict dress code that was posted outside and security kept referring to it and pointing it out but charges to let it slide, unprofessional. then the outside part people were smoking cannibas and security was picking and choosing who they were letting smoke. I heard good things about cru before hand and they seem like they were lit so I wanted to give it a try but after my visit I think I would be better calling the better business bureau on them and what I seen going on and what happened to me. The bartenders were ok I felt the drink were not worth it. I don’t like calling anything ghetto but from my experience it was ghetto asf. In my opinion spend your money elsewhere it’s over hyped and not worth it.plus security all over these Charlotte lounges suck but the CRU security be scamming fr. Update: I came here December 2024 and and an horrible experience. I said I wasn’t coming back but a friend wanted to go May 2025. I had a ball the food was still bad but overall I had the time of my life. DJ and service/ bottle girl were both 10/10 .

I came out for a friends birthday and we definitely regret it. My server was very nice and pleasant, the music was good however they have bad communication issues. We had one server come up literally 5 minutes after us getting our hookah and she told us we had to get up and go because our seats were reserved by another party. As me being a bartender and a bar owner I don’t understand how you can seat a party at a table that is booked, take orders, receive the payments from your customers, and as soon as the transaction goes through tell them they have to leave. Then the way we were approached was absolutely unacceptable. The attitude the server with the jumbo knotless and big behind was very unprofessional. Now the food, my catfish was wet and not fried hard as asked. My sister ordered food but did not touch it because she didn’t like the way it looked, she was then told she could not get a refund because she already paid.
