Walking into Eddie's Place on a bustling Friday afternoon, with Billy Joel's tunes setting a lively ambiance, I knew immediately this was the local hotspot—especially seeing the crowd at 2:30 PM. Located in the Providence Park area, Eddie’s has cemented itself as a neighborhood gem.
The service here is just as memorable as the setting. My waitress, Cat, who’s been a mainstay here for seven years, was an absolute doll. She usually works during dinner hours, bringing cheer and expert recommendations. Speaking of recommendations, the menu at Eddie’s is a delightful dilemma because of its vast array of choices. From breakfast classics like eggs and pancakes to customizable salads and sandwiches, there's something for everyone. The house specialties—Rueben, Shrimp and Grits, and house-made salad dressings—only scratch the surface of what’s on offer. And let’s not forget the daily specials; the BBQ Ribs on Friday sounded tempting, while the Prime Rib on Tuesday and Chimichangas on Monday are crowd-pleasers.
Cat kindly offered samples of the Chicken and Tuna Salad, both house-made and delightful, perfect for a light sandwich or atop a fresh salad.
Starting my meal, I opted for the highly recommended She Crab Soup, accompanied by saltine crackers and a side of sherry to add as you please. Rich and indulgent, it’s a must-try for newcomers—just be ready for its hearty richness if you plan on a full meal.
Keeping things fun, I went with a Nathan's hotdog “all the way” on a toasted bun, topped with chili, cheese, and mustard. For the side, I couldn’t resist the bacon smoked Gouda Mac and cheese, complemented by a pickle spear. Despite typically avoiding overly saucy options, this mac and cheese was irresistibly creamy and flavorful—a hit for even a discerning palate!
Eddie’s Place is now a top recommendation of mine for anyone in the area, and I'm already planning my next visit—perhaps for a weekend breakfast to satisfy a craving. Just a tip: it gets busy, so plan ahead! This neighborhood staple has truly won my heart, not just for the food, but for the friendly staff and...
Read moreOk, guys, so we're back! I have a gem to tell y'all about today, but this one is different all the way. I usually don't talk like I am about to talk now, so here go. Eddie's Place . . . This place warmed my heart. If you notice my pictures, my family is a blended family. We have different cultures, personalities, and colors blended into what makes us, well, us. Many times, the things I do not post are how awkward a place can make us feel as people, as a family, but it happens, people seem racist in many ways when we go to places. For example, when we go to restaurants, people will ask what they can do for us, not just seat us, I mean, it's a restaurant it should be obvious why we are there. Eddie's place . . . They got it right from start to finish. I came in first by myself to kind of check the place out, got greeted with a great smile, at the door as I waited for my turn the outside had overhead warmers to keep me warm, as it was cold outside that evening. When they had a place for my party of six to fit into, we all came in, and we weren't really gawked at or anything weird. By the way, the wait wasn't long at all, like maybe 5 minutes, maybe. The table was clean, and the atmosphere was wholesome and inviting. The server came immediately, with a hey y'all, she was awesome, but I can't remember the name. This place had a great menu, wasn't expensive, and had a little something for all of us from 9 years old to 40 years old. When the food came, we had everything from breakfast meals to dinner. The server went out of her way to find us things we were randomly asking for (condiments and such). They had different people bringing out the food. All were super nice! I believe the manager stopped by a couple of times delivering food and asking how we are. We were spending time together too, and no one made a big fuss about us being there longer than most tables around us. Awesome time, awesome place, amazing service, and great food. Bottom Line . . . This should be on your places to go in Charlotte, best mom and pops wholesome, welcoming feels I had in some time. We...
Read moreMy family and I celebrated my daughter 48th birthday here yesterday. It was packed. We had an hour wait. I ran into an associate and her family who was there for a family member birthday. They had an hour wait also. Masks were worn. Our waiter David was great considering he was over work. I know it's probably due to them being understaffed because people not returning to work.. There was eight people in our group. We asked our waiter could we pull our table together since other part of our eight were next to us. He said it shouldn't be a problem. At some point the manager came over to us talking unnecessaraly louder than I think he should have and waving his hands drawing attention to customers around us saying we couldn't move our table. They following social distance. We never said a word. Just nodded our heads in agreement. It was like he was trying to impress the customers. He wasn't screaming but I guarantee you all the tables in our area heard him because you could see them looking like they were waiting on our reaction. He could have handled that situation much better and no one would have notice. Considering we were a family why not accommodate us for the party. They were already sitting right next to us six feet. Moving them closer to us made us even more socially distanced from the other customers. No one even notice till he said something. Show off. Now that I got that off my chest considering it was packed we got our food pretty quick. My good was good. I ordered off the brunch menu. Had hash browns with nice crispy chicken breast on top of them and sausage gravy on top of breast and a biscuit. Very good. Food temperature was decent. Price reasonable. I have ate here several times and will eat here again. Hopefully the manager see this and take a lesson how to approach customer. it could have went a totally different way. We forgot to take pictures...
