I was there during the soft opening and the service was great and the atmosphere. During, the soft opening we ordered a BLT with italian sausage and a pasta pomodoro. Truly delicious. Today, I went to visit them again because their food is really good abour 4:20pm today. When the gentleman that was wearing a white chef coat just asked in a matter of fact voice what we wanted to eat. There was no pleasant greeting saying hello or how are you doing. I told him that I wanted a BLT with grilled chicken and a farmer’s market salad with grilled chicken. It was just how it came off so unfriendly, that it was off putting. There was another gentleman and young lady. They were polite and assembling the food. You could just tell they had a long day. However, they all seemed so unhappy to be there. Even to the point that my 7 year old leaned in my ear ans asked me “Why are they so unhappy?”That should tell you how the atmosphere is. I was tempted to talk to a manager but have a very tight schedule. The funny thing when the manager came out. He assisted the original person we came into contact with. He greeted the customers that were in line. “Hello. How are you doing?” And only then when he was at the front did the demeanor of the staff changed. I rarely leave reviews. However, I know the cost and effort that goes into opening and operating a restaurant of this magnitude. The food is great so I hope this place survives.I am sure they were burnt out from being hit with a crazy lunch rush. However, first impressions are everything and customer service. I am torn because off of food, I would definitely come back. Due to their service, that alone would keep me away. I hope the...
Read moreTried this place back in aug’22. The food is not at all what i will say is italian leave about even remotely anything to do with italian. The experience, casual attitude of staff, and ignorance towards hygiene was so wrenching. That i shot an email to the eatablishment. Full disclosure: they emailed back to offer another try and they noted down what went wrong. However since the coupon never came through i never went back. Since the only reason i would have since they were offering to give it a try again.
The only person who had some courtesy in her was cashier who was very polite, professional. Kudos to her. I really hope she finds a better place to work.
Below is email that was written by establishment:
My name is Chef Montserrat, the Partner at the Piada in Cotswold Village. I'm very sorry that on your last visit our food was not prepared to the standard that we train our Team Members to provide. I am also very sorry to read that we had team members eating food in work areas, touching food without taking proper safety measures like wearing gloves, and overall, the poor experience you had. Here at Piada, that is NOT how we treat our Guests, and I have addressed this with my team to correct these behaviors moving forward. I would like to send you a $25 "Be My Guest" card to your email address to make up for our mistake. I would love for you to get to experience what Piada is really like, and hopefully get back in your good graces. Please let me know if you would be interested in receiving this $25 Electronic Gift Card and I will...
Read morePiada was a pleasant surprise! The food was fresh and delicious, with a nice selection and good options. They offer wraps (piadas), salads and pastas, the latter two are offered in two sizes. For an additional fee, you can add a protein to any of these. The FARMERS MARKET salad (Mixed greens, red cabbage, feta, avocado, strawberries, sweet corn & tomato, glazed pecans, lemon basil dressing) was delicious. I asked them to add scallions, not in the salad, and they were happy to do so, at no extra charge. My lunch partner ordered the BACON & BLUE piada (mixed greens, red cabbage, brown rice & quinoa, blue cheese, pancetta, roasted sweet potatoes, dried cranberries, cider vinaigrette). She was very happy and thoroughly enjoyed it, even taking part of it home. The second time around, I ordered the DELUXE CAESAR (Romaine, red cabbage, parmesan crisps, bruschetta tomatoes, pancetta, grated parmesan, Caesar dressing), with sweet & spicy peppers (no charge) and fried calamari (extra charge)...delicious!! My favorite, so far. This time, my lunch partner ordered the MEDITERRANEAN PIADA (Italian-style street wrap with harissa grain blend, arugula, hummus, cucumber salad, pickled red onions, bruschetta tomatoes, feta, basil aioli), with extra arugula and red onions (no extra charge). It was excellent.
The cafeteria-style service (think Chipotles!) is on the slower side, because everything is assembled to order, a trade-off I am willing to endure. Though a little pricey, the selections are creative, very fresh...
