Abysmal Service. I went there tonight with my wife, her parents, our two children and two of their friends. We had tickets to Aladdin at the theatre, and made our reservations in plenty of time to make it to the show. We arrived on time, and were promptly sat at a table. Drink orders were taken. After quickly bringing the wine, our waiter said he would be back right away to take our order. Except he wasn’t. Despite us trying to flag down our waiter multiple times, it was 35 minutes after we were seated before he came to take our food order. Meanwhile we had to order ice tea twice before it arrived. We ordered Dr. Pepper for our son’s friend twice and it never arrived. He even went up to the serving station to ask for it again from the waiter, and it never arrived. Our food arrived 50 minutes after we ordered it (nearly an hour-and-a-half after we arrived). I can’t really comment on how it tasted because we asked for “to go” boxes right as the food came since we had been waiting for so long and had to get downtown for the show. The wine was decent. My wife and I had the chance to drink the whole bottle before our food ever showed up. To add insult to injury, they put an automatic gratuity on our bill. Which is really shameful to do when your service is so lousy that your customers don’t even get a chance to eat their meal (and when we have to repeatedly order the same drinks which weren’t brought). Maybe I would have given it a higher rating if we had a chance to eat our dinner. All in all it was a very expensive carry-out dinner that we never got the chance to eat. ...

Original Post - I have gone to Mezzanotte a few times and always enjoyed their Italian entrees, but recently tried their pizza for the first time. I ordered the 16" Americana to go, but when I got home it appeared small, so I measured it to see the pizza (and box it was in, meaning this wasn't a 1-time mistake) was only 14". Those 2" don't seem like much, but getting a 14" pizza (154 sq inches of pizza) is the same as getting a 16" pie (201 sq inches) but with 2.5 slices missing.
Even if it was a full pie, it wasn't worth the $22 menu price. The bottom was undercooked so every slice flopped around and was difficult to eat. So with tax and tip ended up paying $27 for a pizza I wouldn't have bought for...
Read moreI went to the bar area to pick up a called-in to-go order. I HANDED the bearded person my card to pay for my order. Another customer arrives at the same time pick up an order, and he takes their card. The guy behind the bar processes both our payments. However, when returning my card, he threw it down on the bar at me, without saying a word. The other customer was HANDED back their card, and told "thank you". The difference between myself and the other customer was SKIN COLOR.
The restaurant was not busy at the time, and we were the only two customers at the bar area, so this treatment was personal and deliberate.
Since my business is not appreciated here, I will never again order from here. The food quality was mediocre, and not worth the disrespect. There are other Italian restaurants in the area that are not blatantly hateful, and with much better food...
