Ely Taqueria — Restaurant in Charlotte

We ran into this place by chance, but it is the best thing that could've happened for us. The service is fantastic! There is so much warmth and pride in their business, I felt welcomed and at home. Like visiting your family, truly comforting. Next, the food... omg! We ordered chips and salsa; the chips were perfectly crispy and salted while the salsas were SO delicious and flavorful. We then had tacos; carnitas, pastor and tripa I was trying to pick a favorite but it was impossible. They were so flavorful and the salsas they offer were the perfect compliment to them. The tacos are served with grilled jalapeño, onions and lime. We complemented this delicious food with horchata and cantaloupe juice (which was natural), I think that's the most authentic horchata l've tried in NC so far Before leaving, we were offered dessert which we could not decline. We went for the choco-flan and OMG!! It is is so amazing, there no words to describe it... please go try this place! You won't regret it! I personally can't wait to go back for their Taco Tuesday special, tacos...

Found this spot on TikTok and it definitely lived up to the hype. They’ve got a $1.50 Taco Tuesday and Thursday special, and the tacos are actually a solid size, no skimping here. We tried every flavor and they were all super flavorful and tasted authentic. Honestly, they were great on their own, but once you hit them with the sauces? They somehow become even better. They had 4 or 5 different ones with totally different vibes, but the green one was the best imo

Customer service was top-tier too. The guy taking my order suggested the Watermelon Agua Fresca and it was exactly what I needed on a hot Carolina day—refreshing, naturally sweet, and tasted like it was just made.

The food is okay, the only reason I would not recommend this place is because of the staff. The guy and the older lady are very nice and know how to treat clients. The younger lady, on the other side has no respect she was very rude, trying to hurry us to order. This restaurant has their main dishes on exhibition, which my guess are there for clients to see, we were taking our time to take a look at them. Once my family was ready to pay she was very impatient, we were separating our check and she assumed we were not paying one check. “wait who is paying the rest.” She needs to work on here customer...
