Not ready for primetime...or the Queens Feast. Extremely disappointed. Parking is a mess - and expensive. Place was packed. Noise level was consistently above 90 dB. Very painful on the ears. Can't have a conversation with the person sitting across the table from you. Servers have a hard time hearing you. (Maybe some felt or foam panels would be useful?) Being a Bob Peters cocktail place, I expected the drinks to be amazing. The drinks were solid, not spectacular. The website states that they are committed to providing hospitality and excellent service. There was a party in a side room. The two servers went to cover the party and left the entire dining room with NO servers - you know, the paying customers. Everyone was stuck mid-meal, and no staff was anywhere to be seen. (Maybe hiring an extra server or two when you know you have two special events and the Queens Feast? Maybe the manager could help out, but he disappeared the minute Bob left the place.) Very small food menu. Very small tables, if any tables at all, on which to eat the food as well. There were three desserts listed as part of the Queens Feast. They were out of two of them before the evening even started. These weren't fancy desserts that required assembly or a pastry chef. These were scoop-and-serve type deserts. Not having two of the three shows that many kinks need to be worked out. The remaining dessert, chocolate tort, was very tiny and sad-looking on the plate with a melted glaze. We asked to speak with the manager, but he never showed up. Like I said, the minute Bob left, so too did the manager. That's all I needed to know about this place. Hang your servers out to dry and don't care about the customer experience. This isn't a food place. It should not be on the Queens Feast list at all. Just a gimmick to get foot traffic into...
Read moreLast night was my first time visiting Folia, and unfortunately, it didn’t leave a great impression. I had called ahead to make a reservation, but when we arrived, the hostess wasn’t particularly welcoming. When I inquired about the dress code, she simply said, "Don’t show up trashy."
The reservation was for two people, but when we arrived, we saw three friends waiting outside. I asked the hostess if they could join us, and after letting them in, I requested a larger table. The waitress, however, was very accommodating and moved us to a bigger, more private corner with two large couches and a swivel chair.
Later, my friend’s girlfriend arrived, bringing our group to six. Despite having ample space, the hostess rudely commented, “Oh, so now it’s six people?” The outdoor security staff also seemed to be getting an earful from her. We were just trying to have a relaxed evening with friends. When two people from our group left to go next door, we were down to four, but that didn’t stop the tension.
As we were finishing our last round of drinks, three more friends arrived and joined us at our table, as there was plenty of room. Suddenly, the indoor security guard approached, pointed at them, and told them they had to move to the bar—without any explanation or even asking me if it was okay for them to stay. There was no communication at all.
We decided to leave shortly after, feeling unwelcome due to the overly strict environment. I mentioned my frustration to our waitress, and she said she would get the manager, but no one came to address the issue.
Folia is a beautiful place with amazing drinks, but if you’re looking for a fun, social atmosphere, this is not the spot. We won’t be recommending it to anyone, and we definitely won’t...
Read moreWe went as a group of friends to celebrate my birthday and unfortunately it was overall a rough experience. Although the cocktails and the ambiance/design were very nice the operations and service was VERY poor. Where we had made our reservation for (the green room) which open table specifically had you pick when you make a reservation, we were not sat there. When inquiring about our seating the manager said you cannot request places to sit…so this was just untrue which felt quite sketchy. They gave us a champagne toast to compensate which was nice however. After that the drinks were great but with a party of 4 they came up to our table and told us we had to leave that the next party was there and waiting in the lobby. We hadn’t even been seated for an hour and a half yet. The manager then came up again after we said we needed to then cancel our drink order if we were being kicked out. She apologized and said we could stay and gave us some drinks but just sent us 2 drinks for a party of 4. It was all very uncomfortable and we felt like we were on a time although it doesn’t say a time limit or anything on the reservations. They didn’t have the proper ingredients on a busy Saturday night to make an espresso martini (arguably one of the most popular cocktails right now) and it was quite bad. The manager did try to apologize and check on us but at that point it was just uncomfortable and we were ready to go anyways. I would like to go again when they become better with service and operations and give more specific instructions on what their reservations look like as the ambiance and cocktails were good but this specific...
