Pie.Zaa Pizza Restaurant Review Pie.Zaa Pizza! What it dough? Nestled in South End, this pizza shop is the brainchild of the ever-passionate Tyler, a visionary with a love for pizza and a commitment to sustainability and zero-food waste. But wait, there's more! Pie.Zaa isn't just a new resident to Charlotte; it also has a location in Asheville, bringing its mouthwatering creations to pizza lovers near and far.

From the moment you step inside Pie.Zaa, you're enveloped in an atmosphere that's as welcoming as it is lively. Picture this: the TV playing episodes of Bob Ross joyfully painting happy trees. It's an ambiance that's both charming and cozy, adding an extra dash of personality to your dining experience. After all, who can resist the soothing presence of Bob Ross alongside their pizza?

Parking in South End. Yes, it can be a bit of a hassle, but trust me when I say that the pizza awaiting you at Pie.Zaa make any parking woes worthwhile. Plus, the layout of the shop is thoughtfully designed to handle crowds, making it the perfect spot for those late-night pizza cravings or post-bar munchies.

Seating options abound at Pie.Zaa, with counter seating inside and standing tables for those eager to dig into their slices. And speaking of slices, prepare to be amazed—Pie.Zaa offers up massive 14-inch slices alongside their colossal 28-inch pies, ensuring that no appetite goes unsatisfied.

Let's talk about the real star of the show: the pizza. With five signature styles plus a rotating special, there's something to tantalize every taste bud at Pie.Zaa. On my visit, I opted for the classic "Cheese Please" slice, a steal at just $6. Fresh mozzarella and marinara perfectly melded together, creating a symphony of flavor with each bite. And don't even get me started on the house-made ranch—sure, it's an extra dollar, but trust me, it's worth every penny. Creamy, tangy, and utterly addictive, it's the perfect accompaniment to any slice.

The most impressive aspect of Pie.Zaa's pizza? The crust is an absolute game-changer. With the ideal balance of crispiness and chewiness, it's a true testament to the skill and dedication of the chefs. And let's not forget about the fold—this crust is sturdy enough to withstand a hearty fold, yet there's no dreaded flop in sight. It's like a culinary masterpiece in every bite! And the cheese-to-sauce ratio? Absolutely spot-on, ensuring each bite is pure pizza perfection.

So what's next on my agenda? Another visit to Pie.Zaa, of course! With a slogan like "what it dough?", how could I resist? Whether you're a Charlotte native or just passing through, be sure to stop by Pie.Zaa Pizza and experience the magic for yourself. Your taste buds will...

I ordered a pizza, 3 dipping sauces, and 2 cookies to be delivered by Doordash on 4/6. The driver arrived around 8:10 pm with the pizza however, the 5 other items were missing. I immediately call the driver to ask where the rest of the order was and he told me, "they didn't give me anything else." This makes sense because the only other time I stopped in to pie.zaa to pick up my order, I had to tell THEM my order wasn't complete and I was still missing sauces and cookies after they tried to send me off. They were kind.

Anyway, after calling the dasher I called the number to the resturante to see if I can get a refund for those items. The call went to pie.zaa's online customer service. I explain what happened to my order and kindly asked for a refund. The customer service rep had terrible customer service he didn't even apologize for my order missing items nor show understanding for how inconvenient it was for me. The customer service rep then tells me "you have call the store". I said, I thought this was the store" because I dialed the number that's listed for the store and its on my email confirmation. The rep sounded irritated by me and says, "you'll have to call the store or go up there I can't do anything for you". Disgusting!

So an entire operation full of people and a dasher all refused to check my order slip to make sure all of my items were accounted for, yet, everyone seemed irritated by me for trying to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.

I spent over $100 supporting two businesses and I get treated like I did something wrong? And nobody, not Doordash nor pie.zaa has reached...

POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE! We were so excited to try this NY style pizza that seemed to have rave reviews, however that never occurred because our delivery order was somehow canceled after already being picked up. Upon calling the Charlotte location 3x to question the cancelation, all we got was an automated answered line that tells you to send them an email with the information. How does that help you in the moment? We then drove to the location where there was a line outside of 10-12 people waiting and one door open with a table placed inside it where a staff member took orders and addressed questions. Although there were people inside waiting for their food and despite asking to be let inside to speak to a Manager, we were made to stand outside to discuss our concern with this order that was somehow charged, yet canceled without explanation, thus holding up an already long line. How ridiculous? The staff member identified himself as an Assistant Mgr, yet he had to keep going inside to ask the Manager for advice on our issue. He came back and suggested we send an email detailing our concern/issue. Again, ridiculous! We were left to have to dispute the charge with the credit card company. Because of their poor customer service, we have no desire to patronize them in the future and definitely wouldn't recommend them to anyone. The food good be wonderful, but if service sucks, it's not...

PIE.ZAA is a great local pizzeria if you're in South End and looking for a fast, flavorful meal. The selections are all very good. The pizza is thin New York style, but one slice is as big as two normal slices; a great value starting around 6 bucks a slice. Tried both sausage versions and the cheese first, and all were good. The light dough doesn't weigh you down, so you get more flavor. They also have some good dipping sauces. The staff is friendly, helpful and fast. The location, however, is best if you are already in the area or ordering to go or takeout. There is limited parking, and on busy nights, it might be tough to find parking. Additionally, the closest parking cost us 12 dollars. The entrance has multiple steps and would likely be tough for anyone in a wheelchair to access. The dining area is not the type of place where you would go on a date because most of the seating faces the wall or out of the window. Also, it is not a kid friendly place because of those reasons. But for young club hoppers, folks attending a football game or concert in the area, it's the perfect place. And that open window counter is great for people watching.

4.8/5 One of the best pizza places in Charlotte if not the best* (there's one over in NoDa a good friend of me was telling me about that I have to try but other than that one it blows everyone else out the water) Fantastic music every time Sleek modern branding with a relaxed sharp atmosphere The pizza is not the thinnest but has the perfect amount of chew with 0 sagging, fresh ingredients and well balanced flavors (picture is The Garden flavor with Mozzarella, Artichoke, Marinara, Onion, Red Pepper and Mushroom) The only possible negative I could find was that they don't have a balsamic reduction option which would send all the flavors into orbit imo Also their chocolate chip cookie is fantastic and one of the densest cookies I have had in a minute Their hours are wonderful and the location is awesome - this has very quickly become the go to late night pizza spot after a night out Will 1000% be back with friends and family when they visit
