We are located in between Greco Fresh Grille in Steele Creek and The Greek Grill in Fort Mill. They both have identical menus, but they separated out into two restaurants, with Greco having more locations around the Charlotte area. We finally tried Greco recently, so I have to compare the two.
What we got: Lamb Gyro with OPA Fries (lemon oregano and feta) - the lamb meat was a little more greasy here than at Greek Grill, but still good flavor. The fries are also great. Pastitsio - Greek lasagna served with a Greek salad. This lasagna is different in that it is not alternating layers like a traditional lasagna, but instead layers of noodles at the bottom, followed by a thick layer of meat sauce, and a top layer of bachemal/cheese sauce. To compare to the Greek Grill - it was not executed properly here. I do not know if it had been sitting out or improperly prepared from the start, but the bottom layer of noodles were crispy/crunchy and not pleasant. Luckily, since it has layers of noodles, I could avoid the bottom layer to enjoy the rest of it. Definitely recommend this if it is executed properly as the flavor is good. The Greek salad was great!
Service was okay, just there to take your order, not that friendly we are happy to have you here vibe.
Overall a good spot for Greek Food, but you will find us going to Greek Grill in Fort Mill more just to have better execution...
Read moreThis location has gone downhill over our last few orders but gave it another shot tonight which will be our last.
I went in person to place a pickup order and was then shown the tablet where the minimum default amount for tip was 18%. I went ahead and left a $6 tip for 20 seconds of work placing a to-go order which I’ve tried to get away from doing and being part of the problem, so that’s on me. However I don’t really mind if the service is friendly and can have the absolute bare minimum done of getting the order right.
Unfortunately after getting home we had an item missing altogether that wasn’t rung up, despite the cashier repeating it back to me when I ordered it. In addition to that, our gyros had tomatoes on them and also weren’t rung up properly on the receipt, again despite it being repeated back to me when I ordered.
To add insult to injury, the food itself was flavorless and bland. No seasoning at all to be found on the chicken or the lamb in the gyros and we added lemon and extra seasoning at home to our lemon & oregano fries which tasted like soggy cardboard.
Bad experience both on the service we received in exchange for leaving a dumb tip on my end and poor...
Read moreFor the price, I would love to be able to get more sauce if I run out…without getting in line and charging $.50 to my credit card…it just kinda lowers the experience below my expectations for a $30 dinner joint. The line is 5 deep with door dashers (because the food is awesome)…but I run out of tzatziki sauce and had to eat the rest of my meal dry… Yeah…minor complaint…but it is a poor end to a great meal that ends a little flat.
Reply: I appreciate the owners response, and want you to know…the food is amazing, 5 stars…but the service is not 5 star when the meal ends without sauce…I would raise the prices by $.50 to cover the occasional need for sauce to keep the experience from ending on a low note.
It’s just my opinion (everyone has one)…I’m still going to eat there, but will need to remember extra sauce when I order some items…lots of premium restaurants don’t nickel and dime for sauces…you are almost there…but the service...
