Where to begin. We purchased 3 appliances and 1 grill, plus accessories (Samsung washer, dryer, pedestals for W/D, and Samsung refrigerator) on the Friday before Memorial Day 2017 since there were great deals on appliances and we were moving into a new home. I had a print-out with me illustrating the exact products and model #'s of the items I planned to purchase. We spent 3 hours that weekend - the first 45 minutes was spent waiting on the one male associate in the appliance dept. This associate let 2 people jump in front of us, despite it being obvious we had been waiting and were next in line. A female associate (assistant mgr according to her) then tried to plug our items into the system for a delivery order. Except the system kept crashing and would not reload. Another two hours later, we took our order to the front desk to pay, and sure enough, the order was nowhere to be found in the system. So, we spent another 40 minutes re-entering items into the system with the assistance of two female cashiers. We asked if every item was entered, plus upgraded steel hoses for the W/D, and extended warranties, and were assured it was all there.
Two weeks later and our delivery arrives at the new residence, except the two pedestals we were told had been ordered, actually were not ordered after all. So, the W/D could not be installed w/o the pedestals or our "warranties" would be voided - or that is what the delivery guys told us. So...the W/D stayed packaged up in the garage, pending the arrival of our two pedestals. The pedestals were reordered at full price, by a sales associate who assured us Home Depot would work out a new installation agreement for the W/D and pedestals. The 1st set of pedestals arrived but both were damaged. Three weeks later, and a 2nd set of pedestals were ordered. The only problem was, the associate sent the pedestals to our old address and could not re-route the delivery. So, a 3rd set of pedestals were ordered and sent to the new address! We were able to retrieve both sets of pedestals -- all of which arrived damaged and unusable. The base of the first dryer was also damaged so a 2nd dryer was then ordered.
Needing to use the washer and dryer after 3+ weeks, rolls eyes Home Depot guaranteed the warranty and had the washer and 2nd dryer installed without pedestals, except the 2nd dryer was ALSO damaged, along with dents in our hardwood stairs, upon installation. We later discovered the damaged dryer was hooked up incorrectly. A 3rd dryer was ordered, but no delivery date was given. Instead, the delivery guys showed up one day unannounced, unboxed the 3rd dryer while I was busy attending to other work being done in our home, and installed the "new" dryer upstairs. My spouse, who was busy working at the time, gave the dryer a quick look-over, but could not check it thoroughly prior to it being installed. The delivery guys also took pictures of the previous damage on the stairs and said someone would be in touch ASAP. After I had a chance to look at the unexpected dryer I realized the paint next to the front panel was chipped, and one of the plastic bumpers on the side of the dryer had been GLUED ON - so the 4th dryer arrived in less than new condition as well.
The arrival of the 4th damaged dryer was around 5-6 weeks after the original purchase was made. To date, it is 8 weeks after our original order, we are STILL waiting on our washer/dryer pedestals, and no update has been made on whether or not the 4th damaged dryer will be replaced (although Home Depot assured us a 5th dryer was being ordered). Additionally, we have received ZERO follow-up on our damaged stairs. The assistant manager, Craig, gave us a discount on blinds that saved us around $200, but this small & kind gesture has been the ONLY real olive branch we have received from Home Depot to date. Having spent $12,000 at this location, I will likely never do business here again...at the very least, this HONEST review will be re-posted on social media until we get the dryer and pedestals resolved. Not holding my...
Read moreMy family and I just moved to the area and visited this store at 8:30pm on a Friday evening as we had a home project to complete. When we walked in, we were trying to get someone to cut a woodboard for us. Granted the store closed at nine, so we thought we had plenty of time. We asked one gentleman if we could get someone to help us cut the wood in he, he said, sure, I'll send someone back there. He seemed a little agitated, but I just thought, maybe that's who he is. As we're back there, waiting, another gentleman comes with a broom and a dustpan. It looks at us with this horrible angry look and he said, I know y'all are not back here to get a piece of wood cut at this time. We explained, we just needed one piece of wood cut, and then we would be out of the way. He got louder and and ruder and instead of cutting the wood, he spent more time telling us how we were cutting into his tom, he's already cleaned up and we should know let the store close at nine. My partner was very calm and he said I understand I apologize.I just wanted to get this piece of wood cut. The home depot employee continued ranting saying that he's already cleaned up And how it's making him pissed off that we want him to cut a piece of wood. My partner continued to speak calmly and just said. Okay, can you cut it or not. Me personally having superior customer service skills and respect for others. I had to walk away because the rudeness and loudness of this employee was the most unexpected acceptable thing i've ever experienced in my life. He took the board and put it on the cutting board Cussing and continuing to loudly express how we were messing with his time. I understand days are stressful and we would have simply accepted him.Saying, sorry, the wood center is closed for today or something a little more polite, But instead, his anger and his words were embarrassing and completely disgusting to represent home depot in my experience that i've had in other cities. For all that horrible customer service, we could have understood if he would have politely. Just told us they could not coat wood after eight thirty, but instead he just continued to talk to us like we were kids, and it was embarrassing for my kid to witness someone talking to me like that and me trying to compose myself. I will say I watched the man cut the wood. And we do appreciate the fact that he did cut the week.I woood and we did thank him. However we went to the screws out to get just a couple of screws. So we could hurry up and get out of there and another gentleman stood there and watched us at the aisle. The entire time. When we got to check out, we noticed the gentleman at the aisle ended up leaving and walking away when we went to check out. However, we were looking at the screws for about 5 minutes and he watched us and my daughter was like, does he think that we're gonna take something. For her to witness this and then see the man walked off.She felt that we were not welcome at all. I understand that times are tough for everyone. And we are all going through a lot right now, but we could have been getting wood and screws to help. An elderly woman survived through the night and they did not care about anything but making our visit to the store so unwelcoming And humiliating. I have worked with the public for well over twenty years, and you're going to have bad days and I do understand that, but if you cannot put aside your own personal feelings and attitude to help a customer, and if you can cuss and yell at your customer for asking for some help that is a disgrace to the company, then our business and our families business to your organization must not be appreciated so we will not return to this Home Depot in Rivergate again.
Let me end this by saying I believe in contacting corporate and making reviews and excellent customer service and pleasant visits to businesses and I usually do not like contacting an organization for bad experiences, but this one took it over...
Read moreI have used their services twice. The first time was a set of window installations that did not go well at all: Delayed timing of the install Poor quality of the subcontractor that needed to be reworked several times They broke 2 of the windows putting them in and one of them was not reported to me - I had to find it myself months later. On the positive side, they have fixed things so far but it was painful. Update* Found 2 more broken windows from being hammered into the frames at installation.... They brought out one to be replaced but it was broken already from Anderson. Not much good to say here I'm afraid other than they do keep trying to make things right (which I appreciate).
UPDATE nearly 2 years later and they still have not installed the remaining windows. The have been a string of excuses for not doing it - not credible by the way. They basically do not seem to care if it gets resolved. I am escalating.
To focus on a worse story...... Figuring it was just bad luck, I am now using their services for a generator. I paid more than I would have at Lowes because they allegedly had their own installers and seemed to know what they were doing. Turns out - a waste of money. They put the generator in the wrong place and charged me to move it. Took forever to give me a date claiming the city was delaying the permit - that was a lie (I checked with the city). Then they told me they had a get a business license for the city (supposedly they are the biggest installer but they didn't have one). Then gave me a date - the installer told us the day before (after I had taken time off work) that they weren't coming and delayed a week. Absolutely not worth paying the extra money for this Home Depot Canter Power systems vendor - worthless. Go with the cheaper option. They finally killed the power, installed it, and then left - without ensuring the power was turned back on. I finally had to call Duke myself to report an outage to get it turned back on. Only one A/C runs and then the other 2 won't run causing power surges. After weeks of failed troubleshooting, it is finally fixed although it may invalidate my air conditioners warranties. No compensation at all from Home Depot or Canter power - radio silence. Very, very, very, very, very dissatisfied. I am going to post on every website location I can find. If only I could put negative stars... The generator issue was finally resolved and Home Depot was able to come up with a resolution that satisfied me. I can't change the stars rating because the windows issue is...
