As one of the few places around Charlotte, it's okay as there are no real choices around. However, as someone from Toronto who has access to some of the best Asian fare, and has been to HK and China, this wasn't even close. The shrimp and pork wonton w/ noodles and soup were over-processed and under-rehydrated. The wonton had no actual shrimp and very little meat. Veggies were fresh at the least. Also purchased shrimp har gao (dumplings): the wrapper was pretty thin, but the shrimp wasn't fantastic but passable for a cafeteria style restaurant. Would only recommend if you miss Asian food badly, but it's not like you can't do better just by purchasing the groceries and making it at home yourself. The BBQ pork bun was almost okay: the bun portion was light and fluffy and sweet, but the very small amount of the BBQ pork was in a very red fake looking and...

Pork shumai, shrimp dumplings (ha gao), bbq pork buns, and custard buns! We grabbed this mini dim sum meal to go. The shumai is a packed, meaty bite of savoriness. The shrimp was well seasoned and springy fresh. The buns are the highlight of the dish though. The bun is soft, fluffy, slightly sweet, and just firm enough to hold. The bbq pork filling is marinated very well, salty, sweet, and meaty. The custard bun is sweet, creamy, and has a light milky taste. The soft creamy texture goes great with the warm, airy bun. We also grabbed the combination banh mi sandwich. Loaded with pickled carrots and radish, which is a little thicker cut and retains that crisp crunch. The pickled vegetables are both sweet and sour. A great complement to the seasoned meat, pate, and topped off with cilantro and jalepeno. A very...

Solid food here. Inside of the Super G-mart.

The Vietnamese pork buns are good and so are the char siu pork ones. Very authentic tasting wonton noodle soup, broth is on point. There's this particular aroma that you only get from an authentic wonton soup broth, it's from salted radish...and a lot of restaurants get it wrong. Their fried rice is also good. I am very particular about fried rice. And the flavor of their fried rice reminds me of home. The type of fried rice we used to get when all the adults are drunk at midnight, and they take us out to eat in Oakland's China Town. All I need them to do is add salted fish fried rice to this menu and they're golden! That would earn them 5 stars 🤣

It's pretty busy and for good reasons. They're quick and straight to the point. You order, pay, and...

I go to Honey Buns twice a week. My son loves their special fried rice. My daughter and I are obsessed with their boba tea selection and although they dont advertise this anywhere, you can request they adjust the level of sweetness to your liking. I've cut down on added sugars, so I ask for mine to be "half sweet". You can get it with no sugar, extra sweet or the normal way it comes. My favorite is coconut milk tea with boba and lychee jelly. My daughter tries a new one every week, and she loves them all. Hands down the best boba tea in Charlotte. Also the staff are very nice. We've been coming here for years.
