If I could give this restaurant 4.5 stars, I would. But, this app for Google reviews doesn't have that particular capability. While shopping at another store in the area, a friend of mine noticed the Louisiana Fried Chicken sign. And since I'm all about trying new places, we decided to give it a try. Even though the storefront was kind of small, they seemed to be doing a pretty brisk business. We ordered the 16 piece family pack that comes with 2 sides and biscuits. And since they had Gumbo on the menu, I had to try that as well. Our 2 sides consisted of the dirty rice and potato salad. The quart of gumbo also came with a side of dirty rice as well. For such a small storefront, they had an amazing amount of options. Pretty much, something for everyone. The fried chicken was very crisp on the outside and very moist on the inside, with a nice little flavor zip that accompanied each bite. The potato salad had a really great flavor. The gumbo had huge chunks of chicken, sausage and shrimp and was fantastic when served over the dirty rice. The rice was very tasty, but was missing the dirty part. ie; vegetables, peppers, sausages what have you. Nothing else was noticeable, except for the rice. As for the condiments, the ketchup was a different brand than I'm used to, but I was kind of disappointed in the hot sauce they provided, leftover from a Chinese restaurant. If you're advertising Louisiana fried chicken, at least get some decent hot sauce to go with it. This business is definitely worth a try. You won't be disappointed. Read moreMy staff and I had this chicken for the first time on Saturday. This isn't just my opinion, it's a collective review of 12 people. The highlight was the fried corn fritters and slaw. They were very good. If that was all our order consisted of this would be a 5 star review. We also received some of the dirty rice and mashed potatoes w/gravy. It wasn't bad, just very ordinary. The chicken? Worst on earth. What's funny is that before today I didn't know this place also sold fried fish. Our staff came up with a collective description of what this terrible mess tasted like: day old bojangles dipped in way too much zatarain's spice and then re-fried in fish grease. Yes..fish grease! Which is undeniably what they must do! Now you can tear a way at the overly charred outside to get to the plain ole chicken underneath. There is absolutely no seasoning in the meat, it is all in the crust. It then becomes a bit more edible, but not really worth the effort. I have read some reviews of people who actually like this chicken. I really find that hard to believe. It must be the staff or friends trying to pull the rating it up. It is bad. So if you go there order corn fritters and slaw. You wont be disappointed. If you get the chicken..well, you cant say you...
Read moreWe and the family went yesterday. The food was pretty good. Couldn't serve the chicken to my 1 and 3 year old because it was far too spicy. But they enjoyed the mashed potatoes and fried okra. The rolls would have been perfect had they been warmed and not simply served cold out of the pack. Overall the food was hot and tasty. Now...my issue...as well as my uncles.. is a few hours after eating, we both got the worst rumble guts ever! We were both in the bathroom for extended periods of time! We couldn't figure if it was the spices from the chicken or if there was actually "Something Up" with it. My children are fine because they didn't have any chicken. Just sides. I'm trying to find out if anyone else had this problem after eating the chicken? If so, please reply because there may be some sort of sanitation issue. My stomach still isn't 100% and I feel like I have to keep going to the bathroom a whole day later. Please...
