Follow up on this visit my today 7/8/23 at about 12 noon or a little before. My Mom which rarely notices anything and she is the queen of down playing negative behavior but she said the guy who makes pizza's and sandwiches was hovering over the young lady so much so that he decided to take over and ring up her order. He decided to rush her so much so she said may I have a moment to look over the menu if you don't mind. In other words he just made her feel uncomfortable and frankly unwanted. When she got home she told me how he made her feel and I began to unpack how I noticed on the 1st couple of visits he did he hover over me as well and I didn't understand why he did that. He really made a point of trying to hear what I was saying to the very nice young lady which was the cashier. I was not whispering or talking loudly. My voice was at a moderate level but I just have a feeling that maybe he thought I was asking her for something he didn't feel like I had the privilege to ask. If he felt that way it was an assumption because I did nothing but be overly friendly to the young lady while he stood there making me feel unwanted. Despite all that I was still friendly towards him b/c he was going to make my sandwich that day and I wanted a decent sandwich. In this world for certain people it doesn't matter how nice you try to be, once someone makes up there mind to treat you in a certain manner there is nothing you can do to change it. With all that said I am Cool on Luigi's I will take my business elsewhere.
I have patronized Luigi's a few times but the last time I was there the man making the pizza which may be one of the owners or a manager b/c he was in one of the pictures on the wall was very selective with who he acknowledged and thanked for there businesss upon exiting. Perhaps it's better not to say goodbye to anyone if you are not going to speak to everyone. I noticed 2 people that were thanked where people with whole pizza pies in there hands. I did not order an entire pizza on that visit but the few times I've been to Luigi's I spend around $27 + dollars between pizza, beverages and togo sandwiches. Well the pizza is pretty good and my son likes Luigi's. I just wanted to point out that people do notice things and everyone wants to be acknowledged and appreciated new, old or...
Read moreWe recently moved to the area and wanted to give Luigi’s Pizza a fair try. Our first order was decent, but unfortunately, our second experience was disappointing and frustrating from start to finish. We placed an online order with a pick-up time of 5:48pm. When we arrived, we were told that the chicken parm sub we ordered was not ready and from the way it was handled, it didn’t even seem started. Instead of a quick apology, we were told it would be another 15 minutes. Mistakes happen, and we understand fresh food takes time, but the lack of acknowledgment and customer care set the wrong tone. We decided not to wait and asked for a refund. The employee said he couldn’t process it and that we’d have to wait until 10pm because he didn’t know how to do refunds. The next day, I called to follow up. I asked for the manager right away and was told he’d call me back. Hours passed without any call. I followed up again later in the evening and was told, again, that the manager would call after the dinner rush. By 8:15pm, with no response, I called back only to be “disconnected.” I waited for a callback but when I didn’t, I called again. I was then told the manager would call at 8:30pm (closing time). That call never came. At this point, we had no food, no refund, and no accountability. The lack of communication and customer service is unacceptable. This isn’t just about waiting for food; it’s about how customers are treated when things don’t go smoothly. Obviously we will not...
Read moreDuring waning hours of my most recent visit to Charlotte we found ourselves tired and hungry after a long day of running all over the city. Instead of cooking we ordered out from Luigi's Pizza.
There were four of us so we decided on 2 of their medium pizzas which were 16 inches. I made the order on Doordash which was quick and simple. One pie was pepperoni, mushroom and onion. The second pie was mushroom, onion and anchovies. Order time was about 50 minutes.
Our order arrived almost exactly to the predetermined time and the driver was friendly. When we opened the pizza's they were actually slightly bigger than the boxes they had been put in. If you look at the photos the 12 o'lock and 9 o'clock parts of each pie is bent upwards along the cardboard wall. Guess they need some bigger boxes. The toppings seem to have slid a little during the ride to as seemed be heavier loaded around the 3 o'clock position while the 9 o'clock slice was almost bare. That's not a complaint, as it was easily fixed.
As for the pizza's. Mine was ok. I've had better, I've had worse. The dough was very fresh and the star of the pie, however I thought the sauce and toppings were underwhelming. Especially the canned mushrooms.
Next time I'm in Charlotte would I order from here again? Maybe, but not before I check around and see what else is...
