Let me start with this I only give 1 star for places with bad experiences or bad food. Here it's a little of both first of all I bought their 24 oz again bowl somehow paid $30 for it despite the sign above the ladies head saying it was 22.99 . But she proceeds to just provide some bad customer service by answering questions that obviously require more than 1 word answers, with just one or 2 words.
Then I she calls out when my order is ready. But says it very lightly to the point that I had to step out of my car (which was facing their window) to walk up to their window for her to say this is your order in a very condescending way. Then I ask if spoons and everything are in the bag she trys to shrug me off and say yes. As I'm walking away I realized there are no napkins or spoons. So then I tell her hey I just need 2 spoons and napkins please. Again in a condescending top she says you should have spoons in bag. I have to make a point to show her the bag for her to finally give me the items I shouldn't have to argue for. (I used all 3 napkins she gave me)
Then i get home realize this feels a little light pull out my rather overpriced scale to make sure. And it reads 16oz I recalibrate it and guess what. It's still 16oz . Why was i charged for 24oz if I only received 16 oz? If your going through cuts to make ends meet at lease remove the part where it shows how many oz each option should be and don't advertise it as 24oz. A even bigger issue is that I got only 1 -2 oz of acai. This is a acai bowl not a peanut butter and banana bowl. Overall just unsatisfied with the overall experience. Back in the day before the pandemic and shortly after this place was amazing. Now its just condescending high school kids with a hint of racism. Not coming back to this one. At least clean juice makes acai bowls that have better proportions, usually 40 -60% acai the rest is fruit and oats.
Save your money if you are looking for something that is good and give you better proportions and more acai. Even clean juice gives you at least 4 oz of acai in a 12 oz bowl. For less and they actually try to give you 12oz of food if...
Read moreTheir walk up window at the Pecan Ave location says “ring bell” for a reason, because otherwise the young staff member just sits on her phone in the back.
I’ve been a customer here since they opened years ago and while the prices have continued to increase beyond what I would consider reasonable, the service experience I just had really soured my view of Rico’s.
After placing my order at the walk-up window then walking across the parking lot to grab something from an adjacent local business, I returned 5 minutes later and waited in front of their walk-up window for my bowl in the scorching heat. After another 5+ minutes of waiting, I looked in through the side window and found the young staff member just sitting on the cooler in the back playing on her phone. If I decide to go back, I’ll be sure to ring the bell to place my order then ring it again to check if my...
Read moreRico's is honestly so good. I used to work at the 7th Street location and the company treats their employees well. With that being said, I also know how these bowls are supposed to be made. My location prided itself on filling the acai bowls completely to the top of the lid, as they are not the cheapest things to buy. I've never had an issue with getting incomplete bowls from any location except the plaza midwood one. They inconsistently fill their bowls and frequently short customers on ingredients. I have called the location, offered feedback, and I'm frequently dismissed. Today was the last straw for me as one bowl I got was a little lower than normal and one was maybe halfway filled. Having two bowls in the same order look that different, is not ok. Again, I'm a former worker and I want others to know this is not what you should be getting...
