Stepped up diner with decent food. This was our 4th stop on a tour for the best burger in Charlotte. While there wasnt really anything to complain about with this burger, there wasn't anything to really set it apart. It was a good size and had good toppings. It would be great after a pub crawl. We also tried the warm pimento cheese, the fries and the onion rings. Cheese was good but in my opinion was missing something that I couldn't quite put my finger on. I came with a huge assortment of crackers which was kind of fun. The fries were crinkle cut and not as crispy as I'd like them to be. The onion rings were ok. Needed salt. Actually all of the sides could have used salt. The atmosphere here is pretty cool. The booths are terrible though. Every time the people behind me moved, I had to move with them and the cushioning was pretty much non-existent. Service was friendly but not all that timely and no one really checked back to see if we needed anything else. Overall the price was high in our opinion compared to other burger places on our tour. We paid 45.00 for our meal. I probably won't go out of my way to go back. I see the allure but there is better food in town.

Nothing like an old school restaurant to visit in a city that’s being saturated by breweries and pizza joints. I got the salmon BLT, it was good but wasn’t the best I’ve ever had. The menu is pretty simple, burgers, dogs and other sandwiches. I’d definitely go back and try more items. I went at lunch time around 1:30 and it was just a few more people inside. The place doesn’t have a whole lot of seats so thankfully there was no lunch rush I ran into. They do have some patio seating that will be awesome when weather is warm. I chose to sit at the bar and was served immediately. Young lady who was my waitress was awesome. Very sweet and attentive without being overbearing.
