Trip 1 - Ordered the fried chicken green beans and mac. The chicken had no discernible flavor and the pieces were different colors as if some were from the day before and some the day of. The greens beans were straight out of the can, absolutely no flavor and with hard inedible pieces. The mac.. wow! Looked and tasted like Kraft cheese melted and mixed with elbows. Really quite sad. I didn't make a fuss and just let the barely touched plate send a message. My mother had the fried seafood platter which was "ok" but def a regrettable decision for around $18 or so. Chalked it up as a bad choice and was relieved I at least saved via Groupon.
Trip 2 - Had some value left on the gift card and decided I might as well close the chapter fully. I placed a pick up order over the phone as I def wasn't wasting time sitting in this place. Jude answered and her nonchalant demeanor was apparent over the phone. Ordered the Diamond Club and a Gyro platter, both of which come with fries. I picked up the food and realized after pulling off that neither of the meals had fries. And this is after I saw her make and place in the bag ONE small takeout cup of ketchup for me. I called and notified her, and upon acknowledging the mistake she finally showed some concern and service. She said I could come back and get them which wasn't going to happen in 4:30ish traffic. She offered to cover a meal the next time I came, she offered this, I didn't have to pressure or ask. I couldn't except not getting what I ordered and payed for so I called back this next day to make good on the offer. I ended up speaking with the manger who told me, with a hint of aggression that I could come pick up the two fries. Lol, really though. I explained AGAIN what Jude told me to which he said had heard nothing about it, and I would have to call back hours later after she arrived. Again this was all with a hint of take ot or leave it aggression. That was it. I wasn't going to waste any more time trying to settle with this lackluster establishment, far from worth it. I hate I had to even spend the time writing this review, but both experiences were so bad I had to.
Summary - Definitely not deserving of ones time or or money, especially if you consider all of the options nearby. Unless its 3am and alcohol has impaired your taste buds and there are no other options, you deserve to do much better...
Read moreWe went there for dinner one weekend. Firstly, the parking lot was small and crowded and kinda looked like an alleyway. The spaces weren't clearly marked and cars were parked wherever they could fit. We walked around front and the entrance was dark and unwelcoming. The place was crowded and we took that as a good sign. The seating seemed a little crowded and it was kinda hard to maneuver to our table without bumping into other diner's seats. The place was loud and even though we were seated in a booth in the corner we had to shout just to hear each other. The waitress was friendly and quickly took our order. While we waited we started looking around at the decor and noticed that the place wasn't all that clean. We saw dust and cobwebs on the fan and wall decor. The wallpaper seemed kinda dingy too. I noticed that the couple across from us had left and a worker was "cleaning" the seats. After he finished cleaning I noticed huge crumbs or particles of food still in the seat. The next thing I knew, a waitress brought a couple to that table and seated them. They sat right on top of the leftover stuff. Gross!!
For our appetizers we ordered the "Pig Wings", which were bite-sized pieces of fried pork served with a dipping sauce. I didn't enjoy them at all. They were dry, leathery, and flavorless. For our entree I ordered a small Block Burger and my date ordered a Winky Dinky Dog. The burger was really good and the beef was fresh, moist, and flavorful. My date enjoyed his Winky Dog. My burger didn't come with fries so when the waitress came back around, I ordered fries and she said she would bring them. Well, she didn't come back until 15 minutes later and by then we had finished eating. She never even mentioned the fries again. She just gave us the check. We paid and left but overall we felt a little disappointed by our visit. The one saving grace was the burger and hot dog. Everything else pretty much was...
Read moreA couple of months ago, I would have rated this 5 stars... until a few weeks ago when I called to place a to-go order for lunch. On their menu they have a Cesar salad which says VERY CLEARLY in parenthesis "anchovies optional". In the past, I would order this salad and say "no anchovies please!" and I would get a response of "Sure, no problem!" Well the last time I called, I had the rudest lady I have ever dealt with over the phone. I could not believe the level of unprofessional behavior that was displayed to me. I ordered the same thing I have always ordered in the past, but this time the lady who answered says "Ummm... you are aware that all ceasar salad recipes have anchovies right?" I explain to her that no one has EVER told me that in the history of ordering this at the establishment and she says "well i don't know what to tell you because REAL ceasar salad will always have that in the dressing". Okay- so you are implying that I've never ate a real salad a day before in my life? Did you think the Diamond Restaurant was the only place capable of manufacturing such an authentic salad? Why does your menu state "anchovies optional then if it's NOT AN OPTION?!!!! I could go into more detail about how rude she was, but I am already writing a book here. I hung up the phone feeling very confused as I heard the lady laughing hysterically at my expense. The conversation was on speaker phone and my coworkers gasped at how rude this lady was. It was unbelievable!
Making your customers feel stupid while being very rude about it is NOT how any business should operate. My corporation/ friends/ family have already banned this place due to that one little phone call that day. Hopefully by now you've hired a replacement that has a little more knowledge in customer service over the phone. If not, Lord help anyone who calls...
