Costa Maya is slightly new, we just found out about it this Sunday, let's just say, we enjoyed but not to the extent that it deserves 5 stars, it's an amazing place, the service is amazing, not many drink choices with "Águas Frescas" the menú Is quite small but trust me, you'll be flipping through them trying to decide what you'd like, they serve burgers, lobsters, chicken, steak, while it doesn't seem tough to choose, most of these are meals you'd expect to take home if you aren't that hungry and there's so many good options, I ordered the "El Paso" which had bacon, peppers, onions and steak chopped up and served beautifully with rice and blended beans, but according to one of the people I was with (Group of 3) it was a tad bit too salty for their liking, and honestly I felt that salt too and it wasn't that great but still ate it because it was alright, they have alcohol and many choices too, but it's still a nice place to bring people at, it's never that busy so service was alright, but waiters are people pleasers and will always have a conversation with you, they try their hardest and I applaud them for the efforts, and the wait time isnt that long, their chips and salsa appetizers are good too, almost finished the basket, but the Horchata doesn't have that sweet taste you'd like, everything was well and smooth though, our bill came out to around 130,but don't worry we were aware do the prices and yu should too, a meal costs around 11-22 dollar, many platters do cost from 30-50 though, highly recommend to eat here though, will be coming back here again, we just need SOME adjustments!...
Read morea friend picked this place while on the way to another place. we were hungry and she spotted it from w.t. harris.
1st warning sign: no hand soap in the men's restroom and after i told a worker the response was underwhelming.
the place had fewer than 20 other patrons and did not appear to be busy so we expected decent service with no order mix ups.
my friend ordered a bottle of corona and some sliced lime and after a long wait, she was served another brand and no lime. when my friend asked for the limes the waitress said she didn't speak english but would be back.
neither of us wanted a large meal so we agreed to share an order of steak nachos. maybe i'm not versed in nachos but when the plate was brought to our table dish looked like someone else's earlier return. there was a soupy liquid beneath the chips and it looked weird. the nachos were tasteless, i was as disappointed as i was disgusted.
i requested a side order of rice and beans which arrived in separate bowls. both bowls of food were cold and the beans were very soupy. when i asked that the rice and beans be returned and taken off my tab the waitress took the items away and returned with the bill, which listed the rice and beans. she told me that she had to cover the difference from her tips.
i have dined at many mexican restaurants and had a wide range of dining experiences but as for cleanliness, food taste, food quality, service.
i'm equally bothered the waitress had to refund the rice and beans from her night's tips rather than the management taking it off the bill for two dishes that shouldn't have...
Read moreWe were moving our daughter out of UNCC as she just graduated and we wanted a nice meal to celebrate. We arrived at the restaurant mid-afternoon and we were seated almost immediately as the restaurant was only about 10% occupancy at the time.
The menu seemed interesting, and while we didn't want a large meal, we noted it was too late to order off the lunch menu. No problem. There is a "select two option" on the menu, which we were going to try to order from. This is not on the luncheon page.
The waitress was very abrupt telling us that we could not order that option. We asked if she could ask the manager if this was truly the case, which seemed to cause her much frustration and we never got to speak with the manager.
This forced us to order off the dinner menu. And that wouldn't have been bad had the food been exceptional. It did arrive hot, but was poorly seasoned overall.
The salsa was tasty but the chips were crisp and typical. The ground beef was tasty but the chicken, the carnitas, the rice could certainly have been better. Especially considering that after tax and tip, the bill for four of us was more than $80 for the meal including tax and tip. (Yes, we left a reasonable appropriate tip).
Taco Bell has better food and more...
